No problem. So I guess you're more of a writing person that a drawing person..?

SpringCast In reply to naturallydrawing [2010-12-06 15:21:56 +0000 UTC]

well, yes, but I do draw as well. I just don't have a scanner in my possession, and i'm better at writing.

i agree. I can't just look at a picture and think 'this is what i'm going to draw', I wish i could. It would be much easier and help with my writing.

dream0writer7 In reply to SpringCast [2010-05-13 16:09:42 +0000 UTC]

Yes! It's not as active as I'd like, but that's mainly due to a lack of Mercy Thompson popularity and artists. I can't draw so I really can't contribute much other than stamps.

I agree, I think the series definitely has a one-up from Twilight. Mainly because the author has had a career in writing long before Stephenie Meyer. And Patricia Briggs is more original in her ideas and writing. She doesn't always write 'what the reader wants' you know? I see Twilight as just a teen-fix. They're decent books, but they're really MADE for teens. Which limits me now. I read them when I was 15, and loved them. Now, though, I can't stand them... they're so dramatic. And the fan-base drives me crazy.

There are a total of 5 books. Have you read the 5th yet? It's pretty good!

Also, have you read the other were-series, "Cry Wolf" and "Hunting Ground"? They're good too!

They only have 4 of them in my school library, the fifth one came out just a month ago, I was going to look the next time I passed by a book store.
As for the others, they advertised them in the books, but i don't think my school has them. I'll look today if i have the chance.
Isn't there one called Alpha Omega as well or something?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dream0writer7 In reply to SpringCast [2010-05-13 16:19:58 +0000 UTC]

No, there isn't one called "Alpha & Omega". That's what the series is called.

Um... they're about a 100pg story in "On the Prowl" which is tells how the two main characters met. I recommend it! Then comes "Cry Wolf" and "Hunting Ground". You should read "On the Prowl" first or else the beginning of "Cry Wolf" wont' make sense. It's kinda confusing.

Though if it came down to which is better, I think the Mercy Thompson series is better. It's got a lot more action. Alpha & Omega series is really mystery-oriented. It's really hard to figure out where the story is going. And the characters are hard to figure out because Patricia Briggs has to 'slow' them down for the Mercy Thompson series. Cause they overlap, character and time-wise. Characters that are in one series will jump into the other. So she has to make sure they match up. So it makes the Alpha and Omega series slower in the action, than Mercy Thompson.
