You made Zippy the Porcupine? Awesome! You did a great job working with the limitations of the system, and that's always a big plus for me. I was raised on the Colecovision system and played the Atari 2600 games with the expansion module when I was able to do so. I occasionally write reviews for classic games for systems like the Coleco and Atari 2600, and there are some fantastic games that really take full advantage of the hardware.

Yeah, been plenty busy with animation work.  I made another Portable Atari 2600 and a portable NES.  Now I'm attempting a portable SNES and actually videoing my progress this time so I can put together a how-to video on youtube.  I want it to be entertaining and kind of in the vein of Red Letter Media (Best known for The Star Wars prequel critical reviews).  So it'd be like if RLM did a how-to video, which means I'm going to show you all my mistakes that I make and I make PLENTY, which leaves me plenty to joke about.  In fact I got to start writing these ideas down so I don't forget it when I go to start editing it all together.  I've wanted to make other personal animated things, but I haven't had time with these other projects.  I started one a few months ago, and I'm still in the character building process.  I haven't animated one thing on it, yet.  How's your animated projects going?

Hahaha I would like to see a video on the progress on your portable SNES project ^^.
As for my animated projects, well last December I released 2 videos, and I have more projects in the works right now (One Pinkie related animation and The Sims episode 4). The last 1 month however I have not made any significant progress on them due to upcoming exam season. Once that is over though I shall be continuing on those - shall I keep you updated on my progress?

OH Also, I just got my very first drawing tablet couple months ago The thing has been really helpful right now in creating all the new background settings - much easier than using a mouse for some of those elements that requires free hand drawing.

Sure, I haven't seen a whole lot from you lately, so I was wondering if you got work as a professional animator.  I know if I ever had to assemble a team of animators to work on something, you'd be one of my considerations.  I've had a Wacom tablet since I've started animating, and even have a wacom digitizer on my laptop screen, but I don't use it that much.  At work, I mostly animate and don't have to draw or alter things that much.  Most of the time, I start with basic shapes, and then start adding vector points and bending lines until I get the shape I want.  Kind of like molding clay.  It also helps me keep things clean, because I tend to be a messy free hand drawer.

I know, I haven't persoaally arted outside of my Atari 2600 homebrews.  I stopped on my webcomic when I get too busy doing things that actually got attention.  I would have loved nothing more than for Tooth & Claw to become popular, but it was so much work to put out just one page when hardly anyone read it.

There are so many things I saw in your demo reels that I want to see!  Where were those real life things!  I saw a space jam video...then there was something with an animated beaver/gopher and some real legs...and what is that adorable little lamb?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sprybug In reply to bubbles46853 [2014-07-31 00:26:30 +0000 UTC]

Oh, that was a Space Jam parody that College Humor did. I animated a good portion of that.  I worked (and still do from time to time) with Lowbrow Studios that does a lot of animation for Internet based entertainment sites.  Just look up Space Jam 2 Lebron James or something like that in youtube and you'll find it.  In fact, that was the very first thing I did for them.  The animated thing with I believe the gopher/beaver is actually a muskrat and that's from my own thing called Tooth and Claw that you can see on my page right here.  The sheep are from a Christian property called "Really Woolly" that was distributed by Dayspring, a division of Hallmark.  I animated for a studio that pumped out 6 DVDs for that property.

Oh!  Yeah, he's a gopher.  It was the one scene I got to work on for this particular project with Lowbrow.  I only put it in my reel because I thought it might be recognized because it was for the show, "The Good Wife".  It was part of some fake promotional video that was seen in the show.  We also did the bitcoin presentation animation in another episode for that show too.

I come and go here and there.  I check DA every once in a while to see what's up and see what new Deviations that I need to accept into MAF.  I pretty much found out that there wasn't really any audience for my story ideas, so I just moved on to other hobbies of mine, which is why I haven't really been posting much if anything on here lately.

Hello Mr. Spry! Been a while since I last talked with you;

Thanks and let me wish you congratulations on your successful animations.  They're getting quite the views!  How did you find out about my li'l game?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Yudhaikeledai In reply to Sprybug [2013-09-20 14:17:34 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

Also on your game, I've been knowing about it for a while through looking at your gallery, your journal (the wired magazine) together with searching it up google and youtube to see how it turns out: T'was quite amazing to see a classic machine able to actually run something like Mario

How are the sales so far? Also I heard you're attempting something for sonic too right now?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sprybug In reply to Yudhaikeledai [2013-09-22 07:13:24 +0000 UTC]

Well, IGN did a video reivew of the game........aaand then Nintendo found out about it and put out a C&D to AtariAge to stop them from selling it, so all sales are finished.  It was a good run while it lasted though.  The Sonic game is coming along.  I need to have a demo ready by next week for the upcoming Portland Retro Game Expo.  It's going to debut there and I've hit a little snag having to deal with certain collision detections, but I'm trying to get through it.

Yudhaikeledai In reply to Sprybug [2013-09-25 11:54:00 +0000 UTC]

C&D again... Which actually made me fear one thing about your project: Isn't Sonic now being held by Nintendo?

That aside, wishing you all the best for your project; and good luck for the expo Sir

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sprybug In reply to Yudhaikeledai [2013-10-04 10:19:26 +0000 UTC]

No, I'm pretty sure Sonic is still Sega's property, but before any thought of selling it, I'm going to have a talk with Albert at AtariAge to see how we should proceed when it does become time.
