She argues with her voice
The sound of soulful calls
Now a shadow
Faded on the walls.

Now like molten silver
Slides along the floor;
Roasting, ripping river,
Burning just behind the door.

She tangled her voice in her long hair
And drenched it in jack daniels;
Hears it whisper in her ear
Hot the belly rumbles

A medly in the darkest strands;
The song slips past her hands—
