oh yeah I got it, you should post it publicly because it was an awesome e-mail, any time people reach out and give me something to think about is always something cool, and oh so rare. I sent you a response - this is a conversation worth having in public, and letting other people chime in because you are right overall, in that the idea of pictures has become so diluted that there really is nothing original here. It is a picture that panders and caters rather than trying to set up some new art form or concept.Β

even if what i say its true there are still more people who think that the art today is good and it will progress like it always did, but its not like that, in time u see less and less good pictures and art, all the time u see the same thing, we will soon wont have any more ideas about what to do new and original, at that point people will have to make art a thing of the past, to be forgoten and only find it in a museum or to completly distroy it, after some time we can take art from the ashes and bring it again to this level or a better one, only then we can understand the meaning of art and not just copy paste from each other

I think there will always be someone willing to push the envelope - and try to create something new, but with a few thousand years of history and the same themes all the way through, there is little under the sun that could even remotely be considered new.Β

the art created from that push will be something so strange that no ordinary man will understand it, it will be considered a freak and it will be cast away

*lol* I wouldn't worry about it. I've seen some pretty strange and also pretty amazing work out there during my art school days, and there's still a lot of interesting work out there now if you go and look for it. Granted, a lot of the mainstream stuff out there, is rather watered down nowadays. Several of my instructors said that there is nothing new under the sun. What makes something great, is someone interested and willing to up the ante.
The main thing is for the artists who want to go outside the mainstream, to be able to find galleries interested in taking on their work. Trying to get into some galleries though, can be the hard part, since some are booked a year or more in advance.

which is as it should be - while we are both very similar - we are also both very different, we can look at the same thing and see two completely different things. That is what makes you awesome and why I think you are one of those people I am glad I got to meet. Here's to more weirdness in 2014.
