Hi Epri,

I'm really sorry for my late response, I don't check DeviantArt that often anymore. Do you already have your tattoo?
With regard to my design, awesome to hear that you like it that much, thanks! I've got two maori design, but I think you mean the sleeve one?
The design has a few elements in it that represent multiple thing. I would recommend you to take a look at this site (and scroll down) to see what they mean: www.zealandtattoo.co.nz/tattoo…

The flower thing on the top is not a thing you often see in maori designs, but rather a thing that I liked to add. It represents a lotus - the symbol of fortune, purification and rebirth in buddhism.

If you want to have a maori tattoo that really tells a story, or stands for some kind of belief, I would recommend you to either contact a professional maori tattoo artist who knows which tattoo (elements) have what kind of meaning or take a look at the internet and do some research about the meaning of different kinds of maori tattoo's (the site I proved is a good starting point).

Hope to have informed you well enought! If you have taken a tattoo, I would love to see the result!
