Yeah, it has been quite a while... things have been really busy for me lately. I'm trying to set a course for the rest of the year, but as of late some things have come up that have made that somewhat complicated. When I get the chance I want to post some more art. How have you been?

Yeah I did hear about the Hawks making it to the playoffs, a few of my friends have been really excited about it. I'n kind of spoiled when it comes to Chicago teams, I grew up with "The Dynasty" (thats the nickname for the Bulls when Jordan was with them) and I saw them win every championship they went to.Nothing quite matches those days for me...so I don't pay much attention to sports. With that said if they actually make it to the finals I will watch. Yeah...I'm a fairweather fan.

I'm okay with that, since I don't like Philadelphia, and there are A LOT of Canadians on Chicago XD.

You're welcome, and thanks for the compliments. You know I was just browsing through the traditional media and that one just really caught my eye. The character seems to have a modern twist while still retaining classic fantasy elements. I'd love to see this drawing colored.

I made a quick colored version of the drawing in PSP X2 yesterday afternoon. You can find it here: [link] if you'd like to take a look. It's nothing particularly impressive, but I think it gives the character a bit of life.

I'm glad to hear that you think she appears to be something more than just the usual classic fantasy character. It worries me a bit when people immediately associate her with the typical mage (it bothers her, too!), or associate other characters of my own fictional races with the typical elf or dwarf or human- mostly because she has no magical abilities at all, and I don't want to shame myself by ripping off poor Tolkien. Like most writers, I'd like to be just a tad bit original in my work.

That's pretty cool. It does help you envision the character a bit better.

Also, I really like that the world you attach your characters to seems to be very well fleshed out. It makes me really want to see this novel when it is completed. I' also really feeling the sketches of your other characters. I will be watching for more, keep em coming!

It's really great to know that the little worlds and characters I've cooked up in my head in the last few years seem to be somewhat interesting. I hope to get some good editing done on some of my written work so I can post a few novel things here. It seems only right to do that since I mention a lot of novel junk in my deviation descriptions.
