I think the most frustrating part about it is exactly that. For some reason people seem to take that really personally, almost as if it's an attack on them or some shit like that. I don't really like that we feel we have to explain why exactly we don't like receiving such comments either. For me personally I was fine with them up until it got to like 20 or 30 pages, then I just got tired of them because they felt so "artificial" and shallow, almost as if they themselves didn't really care and needed to find a way to advertise themselves (again, not a criticism of them personally and not even saying that's the case, just the impression I got from it). Why does it always have to be the exact same message? Why can't they at least post something meaningful, like perhaps have a conversation about shared interests or perhaps have a look at our galleries? I don't know. My suggestion is just to ignore them, not try to confront them or anything, just hide the comments. Try not to let it get to you. Perhaps look to see how active someone is to see how likely it is they'll post something like that. From my experience, the people who post comments like that most frequently are the people who post pictures of landscapes and animals and stuff like that.
