Don’t you hate how in PMX Editor the only way to translate the display panel is to do it manually?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to 23045 [2020-05-20 02:40:51 +0000 UTC]

There are English versions of the PMX Editor around. Use one of those.

I meant that the name repair for the Display Panel doesn't work regardless of version, and I already have the English version by EosCustom3D

Trackdancer, why do people still use stash?? I hate how mmd distributers use stash for people to download models or motions. I'm now currently in a "404 not found" crisis where even my phone and laptop had this error, all because of the team behind the website still haven't fixed it at all, and you know what, people STILL use stash as a way for people to download shit. Like why can't they put the download on Mediafire, Google Drive, Bowlroll, and hell on the right side of a deviantart post that says download.

Those never had a problem of having the 404 error (when it does happen it actually is an error and not some bug that can be fixed if the team behind the website actually give a damn). The worst of it all is that the mmd distributers don't give a shit to the people who are suffering from this error. They just act like this is something that never happened to them at all, and they don't even provide alternative downloads. All of this could have been avoided IF THE DAMN TEAM OF DEVIANTART GIVE A SHIT.

There reason why I'm commenting to you is because I want your thoughts on the matter even if it's your not known for it and I want to know if you have ever had experienced this. And please don't act snarky with replies like "jUst RelOad thE pAGe" or "i'Ts working fInE fOr mE", please just show some empaty.

I have a simple policy on putting downloads up on Stash:

1. Publicly available models are hosted on public pages or bowlroll.net.
2. For somethings like pose data that don't warrant a page of their own, I put these up on my Google Drive.
3. There are few private models intended for limited circulation that I do actually host in my Stash; but those are less than a handful and only people that I have given the URL to them have access.

But I agree with your thoughts. For publicly released models, why on earth would you want or need to use Stash? Makes no sense at all.

So how come model distributers never translate their models? I'm not talking about the Japanese model distirbuters I'm talking about the ones from the west who use deviantart to distribute their models.

Because they're lazy buggers, maybe? Not that I haven't made my thoughts on this issue known in the past but you know, you can shout all you want in the gallery but if people don't want to listen, what can you do?

Honestly, I really do think a lot of the DA edits are rushed and are made to generate views and download numbers rather than to actually produce quality edits. Then again, some people just don't seem to understand that other people just might actually want to use their model edits...

Hi trackdancer!

I was wondering, have you ever considered posting a tutorial for additional legIK? I've noticed that there's a rising need for them in motions. While a lot of more experienced users might be able to reverse engineer new bones onto older models, it might be worth looking into for more inexperienced users.

i.gyazo.com/4e8fbfda92948ec591… here's an example of what I'm talking about

You can easily add one of those bones using the Semi-standard bone plugin:Β

Thank you for your kind comment. The only type of request I accept are for tutorials. Motion development work takes too much time so I don't do requests for those.

Some very good MMD motion makers here on DA do take requests. You could try asking them.

Hello Mr.Trackdancer i have a question.
Is theΒ Modeling production supervision the modeler of the 3D model?Β
I'm about to update an article and i'm confused.Β

It's about the Kizuna AI model and i'm confused to who modeled the 3D model?

info here.
kizunaai.com/download-page/

In the download page it says that TDA is Credited as theΒ Modeling Supervisor and The modeler is named Tomitake however people seem to credit TDA not tomitake so which one the two owns the model? is it both?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to Midian-P [2018-10-29 23:42:20 +0000 UTC]

Modeler: Tomitake - this is the person who made the model.
Modeling Supervisor: Tda - this is the person who gave advice on how to make the model.

Who owns the model? This is actually an EXCELLENT question. The answer is the company/organization that owns the character and commission the model: (C) Kizuna AI - you can see this at the bottom of the download web page.

Likewise any time you use:

1. Miku Hatsune, you must credit Crypton Future Media, Inc. Same applies to any of the other Vocaloid character they own except Akita Neru who is owned by Smith Hioka.
2. IA is owned by the 1st Place Co.
3. Gumi is owned by The Internet Co., Inc.
4. The Kantai Collection girls are owned by Kadokawa Games.
5. Touhou (Touhou Project) girls are owned by ZUN.

So to correctly credit you should name [the Modeler] and [the owner of the character].

Example:Β

Tda Miku Append model by Tda. Miku Hatsune (C) Crypton Future Media, Inc.

Note that especially in Miku's case, giving credit to Crypton is not optional. It is a part of the term of the license that allows us to use her representation for free. But the same is true of any character model, if the character portrayed belongs to someone other than the modeler.

Hope this helps.
