I know this has been a long time coming from me,
I haven’t been able to deal with the situation as well as I needed and I apologise for that.

I am writing this so you know how I really feel and so that I can grow up and face you
despite hurting you in the way I did.
I know I hurt you, and that I should have been there for your birthday,
and what I did is not something a friend, let alone a best friend, should ever do.

I heard about how you felt at go3 and I can honestly say that I never
intended to make you feel the way you felt at all.
I can see how you came to that conclusion though and I’m sorry that you went through that.

I run away from a lot of things but trying to do the right thing by you,
rather than giving in, was something I should have done.

I am doing this so you know the truth.
I know that at this point reconciliation is far away, if at all,
but you deserve my being upfront and honest.

Please read and think about it,
I don’t want to leave it this way even if it is my fault for letting it get this bad,
and I want to hear your opinion.

i think leaving it this long actually is a good thing; because it shows you are sincere and its not an empty apology.
