80 pages wiped from your computer?! that is so depressing...just to think about it
not that that hasn't happened to me before. in smaller increments. so good for you for writing again!
i saw a picture you commissioned Sorceressmyr to draw for you and had my interest piqued. do you post your work anywhere? (ex: fictionpress.com)? is fantasy your favorite genre to read as well as write? who are your favorite authors?
hehe. i get excited about authors on DA. writing is an art, too!
as for me, i write fantasy, sci-fi, and realistic fiction. plus divots of poetry. My favorite authors include Garth Nix, Maria V. Snyder, Stephenie Meyer, Dawn Cook, C.S. Lewis, and Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. My first story I ever wrote was fantasy, my second was sci-fi, my third fantasy, and my present one is sci-fi. I just now realized the pattern. strange, huh?
(by the way, none of my stories are finished, but every time i write one i get closer to actually concluding it and i keep all my unfinished manuscripts waiting to be finished when I write better )
if you're interested in reading my story, i can send you a link
firstly, though, i'd like to hear about your writer's experience!

sorry i didn't get on this comment right away! : ) no, i don't post my work simply for the reason because - i am soon going to set up a website, with excerpts, a shop, etc... i might post an excerpt or two on DA, one that links to the website, but otherwise nothing else. xD i like to write a mix of fantasy, adventure, and romance. romance is a CRUCIAL CRUCIAL element for me - but not just the straight out romance; no, i like all sorts. ^^ if you want, you can send me the link, i'd love to read it. <3

i actually don't like stephanie meyer; her editor sucks and her writing doesn't flow well enough for me - and she focuses far too much on angst and not enough on action (then again, i have a problem with focusing too much on the action, sooo... T__T)

my favorite author of the moment would probably be cassandra clare - she wrote the mortal instruments - if you haven't heard of her, check her books out. they are amazing.

another simple series of books that i've recently started to like are the awakening and the summoning, both by kelly armstrong. she is fantastic, and there is never a false step in her writing. she never misses a beat, which is awesome. :3

currently, i'm still writing the same book, because it's my baby and i've done so much for it... i couldn't just give it up. right now i'm not really writing... things have been so hectic. but after camp i'll probably resume

a website? haha! coincidentally, me too! i recently bought dreamweaver cs4 (yes, i don't like writing in code :< ), and i've been spending a good chunk of my free time learning how to use it. do you have a website up already, or are you still developing it like me?
romance IS quite important, though ;D for me, i guess it's so much what a book needs to be a book, i don't really think of "romance" as a genre and more of a necessity. so, if i read a summary of a book and feel little romantic electricity, i rarely think of reading it...guess i forgot to mention that! X3
oh, and as far as criticizing Stephenie Meyer, TRUST ME, i could go all day. not 'cause i think she's got a million problems, but because people think she's flawless when she's really not. Have you read her book "The Host"? I believe it showcases her abilities MUCH better than the twilight series, and for that book only i have added her to my favorite authors list. if all i had to determine her as an author were twilight, she'd be good, but the negatives would outweigh the positives. (and i'm a very analytical person, so even my most FAVORITE author or book has flaws.)
i recently read City of Bones and LOVED IT. i am waiting for the second book to come in at the library, but other people are reading it write now. so, i have yet to add her to "extraordinary." before i can, i have to test all her works ;D
Kelly Armstrong...sounds familiar. totally will check her stuff out! the titles, simple as they are, intrigue me already, not to mention that you just suggested her to me

there's a link for one of my stories. i feel a little bad whenever i give people my link to fictionpress because i never update the chapters once i've edited them, but they're something. i've got other stuff on there, too, that you can check out. this is just my most recent one...
no worries that it took you a while to respond! i'm just glad you did ^^
g'luck on whatever chapter you're writing right now, and hope to talk to you again!

hmmm. faulty link. let's try this...
[link]
the story you want to read is called "Vapors of Emotion". Should be the first one on the list.
