Yeah, 's a girl, but she gets mistaken for a guy a lot. She's so BEAUTIFUL...
She's perfect EVERYWHERE... Except the chest - she's very flat. She cosplayed Kaito with her button-up dress shirt open... If she said she were a guy, it would be VERY convincing!! XD

Hmm... Well, what anime do you know?? It's best to cosplay a character you know well. I dunno how to explain it, but if you know them well, your cosplay will look better not because of the costume or make-up, but because you are "in-character", if you know what I mean. Some people cosplay characters they don't know and only cosplay them cos they look nice, but they don't look "in-character" - they haven't "become" the character.

Please be prepared for a VERY VERY VERY long read. I made it really detailed, so I'm SO sorry it's gonna be long...
But hopefully this will be helpfull for you~!
Sakura Haruno (Naruto Shippuden) - I think the outfit for Sakura in Shippuden is nice. It fits the body well, so it will make most people look more flattering. Her dress from when she was 12 makes most people look fat unless they get it custom made to fit their body properly. Also, the wig will be easy to manage and style since it the fringe is parted in the middle and it's short (the longer the wig, the more tangles you get). Don't really need to do much. Make-up should be simple and neautral with just a bit of black eye-liner to make the eyes stand out. She's a very plain character, so don't do too much on her.
Rukia Kuchiki (Bleach) - I think the school uniform will look better. The black Hakama she wears as a soul reaper will make anyone look fat, no matter how skinny you are. When styling the wig, you know the strand of hair from her fringe that's on her face? Make sure it doesn't look too much like a stick. I see a lot of Rukia cosplayers who styled their fringe really badly, especially the part in the middle where they used too much gel. They also parted her side part bangs too far off their face, so it doesn't frame their face nicely and it kinda looks greasy. Use hairspray to make the middle part stay in shape and only use gel on the tip of it. Make sure the side parts of the fringe are not too off the face and nicely frame your face. Make-up should be simple, but black eye-liner can be slightly heavier. The simple neautral make-up will make her look sutble, but the eye-liner will make her look a little more wilder.
Soifon (Bleach) - The top is a bit revealing, but there are characters with even more revealing clothes than Soifon... If you feel self-consious about that, you can cosplay her with the white haori coat. But if you're confident, then go ahead and show some back skin~! XD ~Her wig will be a bit more challenging. Seperate her pigtails into 3 parts and use some sort of white cloth to wrap them all up and then start braiding the pigtails. They should be long, but I think using hair extentions will be easier than using a long wig. If you use a long wig, you'll have to chop off a LOT of hair cos her pigtails are thin. So use a short wig and add extensions. If the extentions are too thick, cut off some hair, but not too much! Be carefull with cutting cos it won't grow back!! The last thing you want is 3 strands of hair that you can barely wrap with the cloth or even braid it, and then there goes your money that you spend on the extensions.The cowlicks on her side bangs will need hair rollers and lots of hairspray, and leave the rollers on for about a day with continuous spraying every few hours. If it's too curly when you take off the rollers then wet a comb or brush with water and genlty brush it down till you're satisfied. Her bangs are easy to cut. Just brush the hair forward until it's covering the face like a ghost, then cut it straight and square. Make-up can be slightly fancier with Soifon. Use black eye-liner, then some pinky-red eyeshadow on the bottom. If you look at this cosplay: [link] You see where the pinky-red is? Do something like that. Soifon is more of a "spicy" character. Hard to explain, but if you think about the character's personality and physical appearance, you can see there are "spicy" and "sugary" characters. The pinky-red eyeshadow will add some character and "spice" to Soifon. You see how the cosplayer's make-up makes her look a bit more ferocious? That's what you're trying to aim for with Soifon; she's gonna cut you down with her Zanpakuto like a BOSS.
I could go on with more characters, but some of their costumes are a bit graphic and revealing, and I don't think your mum will like that...
Do you know Katekyo Hitman REBORN!, Gintama, Death Note, or Vocaloid??
If you know them, I can give you some more broader choices.
Katekyo Hitman REBORN! has a lot of variety in costume, but most of the characters are boys. Chrome Dokuro or Lal Mirch from that series are a good choice, and I can give you heaps of tips for them.
Gintama is my current favourite I'm crazing over. There's more girl characters than in Katekyo Hitman REBORN!, and none of them are like the typical dopey cutesy weak useless girl characters (I hate them, they're annoying...). The girls in Gintama are even stronger than the boys~!! LOL
I can give some tips on Kagura (I cosplayed her; the orange hair China girl - check my gallery), and she's the one with the most variety in clothes. She's the strongest out of all the girls since she's an alien from a superstrength clan. She's also the youngest and the cutest~
Kyuubei Yagyuu has 2 variety in clothes. She has a boy version with a ponytail and white coat (she was raised as a boy since she was the only heir to her dojo), and a girl version with pigtails and a pink kimono. I think the girl version will be nicer.
Tsukuyo is one of the cool girls. Her skirt is long but there's a split on the side and she wears fish-net stockings with black boots. However it's not entirely revealing unless you lift your leg up high... She was sold as a child to an underground brothel city to be a prostitute, but while she was there she was trained by a ninja, so she works as the head guard for the city more often than working for you-know... She's a really cool character~!
There's also Pirako Doromizu. Her voice is a bit annoying and she's kinda creepy for her love of decorating everything with red flowers (i.e. BLOOD), but she's kinda cute. She only showed up for one story arc though (she might come back later).
Nobume Imai is one of my most favourite characters. She's REALLY cool~!! You know that link I sent you to show the make-up for Soifon? That's a cosplay of Nobume. However she's a brand new character, so her cosplay isn't on sale yet. The cosplayer I showed you who did Nobume made that cosplay she was wearing. I'll be doing Nobume soon too when the outfit is on sale~! :3
For Death Note, there's not much girl characters, but I can give some tips on Misa Amane. I don't particularly like her though; she's one of those dumb pretty dolls with no brains, but her style and fashion is cool.
Vocaloid isn't actually an anime or manga. It's a singing synthesizing robot computer that takes a sample from a voice, then the lyrics and music is typed in and it makes the voice sing. It's really cool. I'm not a big fan of eletronic voices, but I think Vocaloid is cool. The creators of Vocaloid Project made the singers as virtual anime characters. It's a bit like the virtual band Gorillaz, except there's no actual person singing behind the character.
Such Vocaloids include Miku Hatsune (who's the most popular), Len & Rin Kagamine, Luka Megurine, Kaito, Meiko, Gakupoid (sometimes called Gakupo), Megpoid (sometimes called Gumi) etc.
Most of Vocaloid's songs have different themes, like "Matryoshka" (which is very popular), "Magnet", "Imitation Black", "Alice Human Sacrifice" (this one is REALLY creepy...), "Love is War", "Cantarella" etc. And some cosplayers cosplay the Vocaloids depending on which song their cosplay is themed on. Otherwise they just cosplay their default clothes (which are still pretty cool). All the Vocaloids wear cool clothes~!

If you need any more advice, I'm open for business. But you should also ask Viospace , she's more experienced and is WAY better at cosplay than me. Her make-up is also really good. Yuegene is REALLY popular. She's actually a professional cosplayer from Thailand who won many awards for her cosplays and sometimes goes overseas for shows. So I don't think asking her for advice is a good idea unless you want your comment swarmed and drowned by other people's comments...

Also check out Saya. She was a professional Japanese cosplayer, and she was considered "The Queen of Cosplay". Unfortunately she passed away last year from an accident... R.I.P. Dearest Saya~~ She didn't have a dA account, but there's a FB page with all of her cosplay photos: [link] Poor Saya; why such did a beautiful girl have to be taken away at such a young age...?? D;

Thank you so much!! I read all of it and I really liked it. Sakura I might not do because she made me mad when she killed off Sasori. But the rest of them are pretty cool. Rukia I can most likely do because my hair is that length.
Pirako looks pretty cool. Also yes I do know Vocaloid because I have many of there songs on my ipod. ( I personally like Alice the Human Sacrifice)but I think the only person I could really cosplay out of them would be Rin Kagame.
Anyways, Im going to continune looking at all the people you told me and hopfully find one my mom will approve of sooo
