well my first tribal was in 1992 by accident triying to draw a pinstripe art that i saw on a motorcycle i dint knew what tribal art was until i read a tattoo magazine,maybe im not the right person to say how to but if it helps
just buy a note book for doodles and draw any tribal that you like and modify the design untill you come with you own ideas.
