Hi Amanda, thanks for faving the "Bleak House..." photograph. Perhaps not my favourite submission and certainly not the cheeriest landscape I've captured but I did like recreating the effect of an old vintage post card. I clearly remember equally unwelcoming views on cards, with slightly distorted colour tones and browned edges, outside seaside shops when I was a kid...

I must correct the illusion, created for drama by the title, that this was a caged kitty.

In reality, the window screen was for security of the house not to incarcerate the cat

1000 Pieces Of Stock Competition

Wow! So I finally made it. 1000 pieces of stock posted. I never imagined when I opened this account that it would get so big. I just wanted a place to post the odd textures and things that I had made when I was doing my artwork to give something back to the online art community. It seemed silly to have all these textures and things just on my computer which I had found useful when other people could be using them as well. At the time I had no job and very little money so it seemed the least I could do. I am constantly amazed and delighted at all the wonderful pieces of artwork that people make using my stock. It really makes my day when I see the links in my in-box So I wanted to say THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone who thinks my stock is good enough to use. The "Truly cool..." sunflower   was taken on a similar journey two years ago in France

For deviants in the Northern Hemisphere my sunset offers an illusion of warmth       but "Like a furnace burning..." may upset those in the heat of the Southern one
