if you ask me, the process is quite simple c:
you basically create new characters and give/sell them away
buyers can use it for their own story, rp, etc. and ofc they can commission people with those designs you've made.

Do you design everything from the top of your head or do you get inspiration from certain things?
Do create the bases too for every adopt?
And like with the Ansi, how do you know if a race you designed is truely unique?

i just design whatever i see in my mind c:

Ofc you can get inspiration for the theme of the adopts like dessert, goth, etc. And you can use color palette out there. But it's much better if you do it all on your own.

For the bases, you can make on your own or you can use bases by others. It can be either free to use (F2U) and pay to use (P2U). If you use base that are made by others, ofc you need to credit them every single time you post an adopt.

When it comes to closed species, you basically list down all the traits and look out all the closed species out there if there's any similarities. If there's any similarity like 2-3 traits, it won't be unique and some people will think it as plagiarism.
