haha... right. Thanks for the reminder. I need to join the photography club so I can use the darkroom... that's the one thing that I miss about high school. But really, I should submit something since I'm paying for this crap. Peace out

Hope college life has been treating you well, and I can't wait to see you get some photos up from Canada. That should be some great imagery for you to shoot.

hmm....give me a call sometime, we can negotiate this. By the way, you're invited to my birthday party. July 30th. it'll be at 20th century lanes, the bowling alley on 92nd/powell. 8:30ish.

psst topher, my birthday's coming up and guess what I'm getting? Yep, the Fuji 500 Funpic.....4megapixel, macro lens, video capture....should be pretty awesome. All for 169 on amazon. I've been thinking of going downtown and doing some portrait-photography. . .sort of a high-contrast look at urban portland. . .extreme close-ups/wide-angle shots of the background. . .thinking of one of these days just going out to downtown at some ungodly hour so there won't be a lot of foot-traffic. Could be some great shots--parallel to PSU where you can see for miles. . .or maybe we can rustle up a model, somebody who symbolizes portland, and get them to pose up on the North Hills, by the OHSU complexes, so you can see all of northwest/sw and along the ross island bridge. I got ideas flowing in every which way here, man. . .this new digital will make for some extraordinary shots.

Mr. Rhodes: I've found a dark-room facility in SW portland, downtown. When you get back we'll have to check it out. Six bucks an hour, plus some questionable "fees".....but we'll look into it. If you wanna check out the site, go to google, click on "Local" and search for Darkroom in Portland, OR. The one I'm talking about is called U-Develop or something quirky like that.
Good times.

awesome... there's also that Newspace place.. it's a couple bucks more but it's a little bit closer. I'm out of town again until like the seventh... but I'll give you a call when I get back. I'm excited. peace.

Hey Chris, I was wondering, do you have any professional dark-rooms in portland that you know of, that are open to the public? Since Mr. Dixon's room isnt really an option anymore, I'm just kinda wondering where to do this stuff.

Yeah... I was wondering about darkrooms myself... I was thinking about turning a closet of mine into one... but that's a lot of work. I don't know of any, but I would like to find one, as well... I still have a couple rolls of t-max to use up. if we find one maybe we can go together some time, eh?

It seems that everyone who disagrees with me resorts to imature name calling and using mindless propoganda. You seem to be the exception. With the very few comments I've read by you I can already tell you have more maturity than most people I collide with on this site. Good job on keeping the arguments/debates civilized.

whoa... no, I don't think I've ever seen anything like that. How'd you do that? "reflective photography"? thanks for the idea... explain please

Just got to get the angles right.... The statue is actually a reflection off the glass for the window. There is maybe a foot and a half square area where the distortion of the reflection is minimal... Then just set your exposure, turn off the flash and hold real still. It would of looked better if I had a tripod, but I did not have one with me, and I'm not sure what the sisters would of thought of me setting up shop in the visitors center..

oh cool. thanks... I was just visiting SLC last weekend, I don't plan to be back for a while (I live about 800 miles away) so I probably won't have a chance to try it myself, but it is a very interesting effect, thanks for sharing!

thank you to all the people who've commented here.. I'm sorry for not replying I am very new and confused about how to use this site. Also, I deleted some 'deviations' from my galllery... some of them were pictures of my friends this wasn't because I have anything against those people, so don't worry if I deleted your portrait, I just wanted to change the look of my gallery and also some of the portraits I just thought were better than others, as far as my ability is concerned it has nothing to do with the model... anyway, yeah.. good night.

Somehow I don't feel deviant enough for this site. But, perhaps I am artistic enough.
