Watercolor's loads of fun, once you get the hang of 'em. I'm still a novice myself, but if you ever need any tips on getting started, I'd be glad to give some!

Sure!
I usually start with a light, sketchy, gesture-drawing of the character. After I have an idea of what I'm doing with the sketch, I'll go over and make a "less general" sketch, depicting more details, and "filling out" the character. Then I'll do the line art over the new sketch in pen. After erasing the pencil sketch under the line-art, it's time to paint! With watercolor, the more water you add makes for a lighter and more transparent color. With my stuff, I'll usually go over the entire picture with a very watered down color. This'll tint the entire picture. You don't really have to do that, though. I've just found that it kinda helps the picture stick to a certain mood. After that layer dries, just paint whatever needs to be painted, using less water for shading, and more water for simply coloring.
