Duty and DisciplineTheros Kells expects to die.  He is not bitter or angry at this.  Only disappointed.  
    He is out of room for the chainsword and secures it to switch to the gladius.  Its twin is already in his left hand.  They are not made for this kind of work, this kind of enemy.  He must make do.
    Chitinous bodies press in on him, scrabbling, stabbing, cutting and clawing.  He greets them in kind.  Hurting, washed in ichor and blood, he fights not for any territory or ideal, but to survive.  It has been a long time since he felt pressed to the edge of his skill and endurance.  He was forged as a demigod of war, but even a demigod has limits.
    The hormagaunts trample past him, clattering mouthparts and weapon limbs.  Barging shoulders and flanks plated in natural armour stagger him.  He tries to brace and push back, but his feet tangle in the fallen corpses.  Another impact, another
