Hello
I got this technique from watching a Sorayama DVD. This was my first acrylic painting. I stat off with pencil. Brown colored pencil or 2b to lay in all the values. I spay a workable fixative on to protect the drawing. Then I lay the acrylic colors on in very thin washes. The background washes can take 30 or more layers. When I apply the colors I go from light to dark. I do my best not to use any white paint. It makes the paint look muddy. The white is the board showing thru. Paint it like it is a water color painting. You can enhance it with colored pencils. Each time I do one I learn more.
