So basically, it's narrated by Death (literally) and set in Nazi Germany. This little girl is adopted and it's basically about her, from Death's point of view. It's honestly very moving. I mean... it's not your typical WWII story--she's German but not Jewish, and she lives through the war in her little hometown. The theme is the books she 'steals'. You just have to read it. It's definitely worth the money.
