Im trying dude. But choosing a color palette is posing much of a hurdle for me. But fear not, I have a lot of perseverance in me. Will come out with a wallpaper-grade artwork soon.

If it's any help, dont hesitate when playing with colors. Chuck whatever comes to hand on the canvas and then render them as per what you seem to like. The more colors, the more variation and a better final result.

Totally helpful dude.... will do. Currently I find it easier to just paint on multiply mode but then the pics look rather cartoonish and the pencil strokes don't really help enhance the image. And I guess I am also not very much used to the wacom tablet i have. But I guess I have to practice to get any better.

Yep. Just keep at it. Try multiply for dark shadows and screen for highlights. Color dodge also works pretty well for well lit rims or colored illumination around a subject. But it's all situation dependent. Work around with them. I'm sure you'll find something that your'e comfortable with.
