Hmm I think it's all about the proportion and the contrast of shading & highlights when drawing, so you gotta observe your reference carefully.. I've been amazed by how some people could draw so realistically, I didn't think I could eventually do so myself! So I'm sure with enough practice you can do it too

LOVE your color pencil drawings!...you're really talented ....I've tried drawing with color pencils, but I found it really hard .. especially with limited colors ... but you really pull it off
