I've always been interested in photography, so my first attempts at modeling were simply because I didn't have a model to work with, so I used myself (which worked pretty well, since I knew exactly what I was trying to express).

My family lives around 6 hours away. Most of the friends I've made since moving here are closer to Toronto, so I dont get to see them often. I am kinda shy when it comes to making friends, so I only tend to make 2-3 close friends, which is good because I invest a lot in the relationship, but had if they're busy or move away...

.......oh GOD I h8te losing friendships and I've had a Lifetime of going through that nonsense from moving so much and getting depressed sometimes and losing contact with people altogether. One thing I never had that I'm jealous of when it comes to so many people is a long-lasting friendship let ALONE a friendship. On one hand I don't mind being alone, there is a certain comfort that comes with solitude, but on the other hand I want some contact with someone you know. Being isolated from people and society as a whole really messes with your head you know. Friendship is one thing I cherish alot, esp since I seem to have more failures than successes. I'm not sure what type of rapport we'll build but I'm willing to take the challenge and find out........

and you basically found your best model in yourself dear, I enjoy your work and photos: sexy, confident, alluring, and with the right touch of humor. Very inspirational work as well, but I'm sure you've been told that before.

So you prefer a Nikon over a Canon or what? I know it really doesn't matter with those 2 brands, they're the elite of cameras when you want to take photos, anything else would be a mistake. I take it you've been taking photos since forever or how did you get into it? Is being a photographer what you wanted to be as a young girl growing up or did you have other aspirations/dreams?

I had actually broken my camera - I had it on a tripod, tipped it over by accident, and it broke the mount that pops the flash up. So, I saved the money, got it fixed....most of the photography I like doing is outdoors in spring, so I didn't really use my camera for 2-3 months. When I went to use it, I found that on manual mode the displays wouldnt stay "lit" for more than 2 seconds or so, so I couldnt change my aperture or anything without turning the camera on and off about 100 times to do it. It was kinda too late by that time to take it back to the shop and say "YOU did this", so I used it to just look for a new camera. I found a nice university student that was selling off his (mint condition upgrade of what I had) camera to upgrade to something that took video. I got a great deal, and now I can finally get back in to it

Scarlette is actually an IRL friend. She and my ex went way back and she modeled for him in his early photography days. Thats how I ended up meeting both of them as well. She used to come here but she hasnt been doing much modeling these days either iirc.

I dont think I'd really prefer one brand over another, from what I've seen they're pretty on par with each other in terms of quality, I just happened to start with a Nikon is all. I've always been in to photography, since I was around 13, but its more so a personal enjoyment sort of thing. I dont expect to make money or get famous, I just take pictures of things because I want to always be able to remember how they look. "Song of Sorrow" is probably the best example of "do it because you love it"

AWESOME. You lucked up with that cheap upgrade. That's pretty bogus the repair shop did a shoddy job on your old camera, that thing sounds like it's only good enough to be a paperweight now, a VERY EXPENSIVE paperweight. Breaking a camera is always a drag, they cost so much these days depending on if you want a high-end camera (DSLR/SLR/HD whatever alphabets they use these days........)

Oh so you knew Scarlette already eh? I 1st met her on some forum a few years back and found out about her website, then a year or so later discovered she had a dA acct. It's unfortunate she doesn't do much modeling anymore, she's a natural and better than the porn crap she has unfortunately gotten herself involved in. Maybe that's why she got burned out on modeling, who knows? You 2 still talk? I would LOVE to see you 2 in some more photos, that would be so cool. I would also like to talk about some modeling ideas with you whenever you have time, I'd like to see you in front of as well as behind the camera again. Sounds like you got a passion for photography but at the same time it wouldn't hurt to get some commission work off of what you Love, I would love to for my artwork and animation endeavors (actually have with both on a few occasions, VERY few). One thing I don't want to happen is me getting burned out creatively which is why I try to keep more than 1 iron in the fire. I have a ton of interests that keep my time and mind occupied that I'm sure I could make money off of if the time is right. Let's be honest, everybody's goal in Life is to be their own boss and work their own hours let alone whenever they wanted, I'm sure you're no exception right?

So, here's the upsetting thing - the shop I brought my camera to is a legit repair shop. Everything still works in automatic mode, but not manual. And I didnt even think to check it, I turned it on and snapped a couple quick pics just to make sure the mount worked. Fortunately the replacement i found only cost $200 (as apposed to close to $600 for a comparable body).

Scarlette has actually been doing her own porn site thing almost right from the get go for her modeling. My ex shot a lot of her initial sets for her site. Its only been in the last few years she's done a little more mainstream sort of things. She's still active in the community though - I know she was at the BBW Las Vegas bash this year. Part of the problem I guess for needing continuous content is finding a photographer you work well with. Around here thats pretty tough. The community is pretty small, so if you're a hack/perv photographer, everyone knows it. Unfortunately, the "good" photographers would consider her needs beneath them, or she couldnt afford them.

Song of sorrow was the viola picture on my photography account. its one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. The most money I've ever made from my photography was one wedding, a hand full of senior portraits, and some artist reference photos. Things like that are few and far between, though.

Its funny you say that about wanting to work doing what you love. I've NEVER wanted that. I want a monday to friday job completely unrelated to what I like doing creatively. It gives me time to recharge and think about the things I enjoy - kind of like an escape. I mean, dont get me wrong, if people want to pay me for the things I do as a hobby, thats cool, but I definitely don't expect it.

Ok I'm going to start this from the bottom up with my responses..........

I think I recall saying that I had alot of interests, kinda like a modern-day Renaissance Man. That would be ALOT of work in my case. One interest I have is Coding/Programming and currently I'm working on a Mobile app project to remember and practice what I learned taking on-line courses on Codecademy.com over the past year (about a year ago with Python and recently this year with HTML/CSS and Javascript). What I'm mainly learning all this coding and programming for is some animation freeware I discovered a couple years ago, one of them is Js-based as far a programming it and the other uses nodes (and just when I tried to avoid learning computers in school for my Art/Animation major.......... ). Since I'm not in school at the moment--long story--I decided to keep learning this stuff regardless, I'm not going to let that get in the way. Another interest is Shamanism. I was planning on going to the Amazon last month but had to cancel them, I didn't have enough money but the trip's been postponed until further notice, my ticket's still booked, all I need is money for the cab ride and the center I was going to (another long story). This is something a long time coming, I'm not going to let ANYTHING get in the way of that and at the moment quite a bit is getting in the way (TOO LONG of a story, longer than the 15 years it took for this to come to this moment ).

At least you got something let alone a skill for you to get paid for if you ever need it but I hear what you're saying, you're not doing it for money and I feel the same about my artwork. I know the feeling, sometimes Life has a way of getting in the way ya schmellz me? I'm either working or fighting off depression or both most of the time but every now and again I get spurts of cre8tivity. I really miss making music videos, I was enjoying playing with Apophysis again and got even more ideas on what to do next. I'm beginning to gain more confidence in that. With vvvv--not so much. I haven't worked on that or seen any tutorials in a min so I basically forgot alot but I know where to go to learn (plus the people on the website are very helpful, you can Skype some of them for conversation or collaborating on a project or even for help). That multi-purpose tool has infinite possibilities, you can do things like program a robot to setting up a security system to creating interactive video games to developing websites (and I'm sure apps) to, of course, animating things but in realtime and audio-reactive. At least with your tumblr acct your still staying active with photography but you don't necessarily have to travel to take photos unless you had an idea on where you wanted to shoot photos (or certain photographers/models you wanted to work with) then I overstand. If you thought I was talking about Nudie Booty shots then you're sadly mistaken, I was talking about pictures period. There's this 1 tutorial I saw on doing this Tricolor Ombre lip shading:

I've always wanted to go to one of those but nowadays I'm thinking more and more how it probably isn't my scene--it's full of porn stars. Not sending any shots but you aren't going to find very many cre8tive people who aren't money-hungry in that type of environment (plus their self-esteem isn't as strong as most would think). I've noticed how there is basically 2 types of BBW Communities after being on dA for 5-6 yrs--the artistic side and the smutty side. I don't believe every big girl model and photographer on here would be too quick to want to go to an event like that--some, but not all. There is a difference, HUGE different. I spoke to one SSBBW model who never heard of a bodyscape shot. That says ALOT to me.

1nce again you lucked up on that bargain, nothing wrong with shopping around and shopping smart, there's no tellin' what you'll find. That shop though, very unprofessional.
