I don't think you don't care, because everybody who loves art cares about anatomy and such, even a little bit. (without being obsessed with it)

I can understand your problem with references, but even drawing old grannies can help you. The best thing to learn anatomy is to draw nude people... but if you're not an art student, that'll be difficult. (you can always find photos here : [link] )

"elongation" is not a problem, it's one of the things that make your style beautiful. (for me, elongation can mean nobility when it's well drawn)
