ITs fairly simple to understand when you look at it, you join at the subplots, by posting up your character profile, then wait a few minutes for a member of staff to approve it, probaly be me or Rayo. Then you start of a RP style quest using Keywords from the games, and when you finish, we score your quest (Me, Rayo, Tokki or Ruri), and depending on Post Length, Quality, number of posts per-adventurerer. So more people = more posts, number of battles, how well they were fought, how many minor little items you picked up(The moreo f these, the worse your Gott Prize is), and depending on what we come up with, you will be awarded levels and items. And if your really good, Nall will offer you the chance of giving up the sub-plots to come and join the main plot, and Nall really loves creative people.

Yes, what trigi said is true. Spears are used by Long Arms and any swords including katanas are used by Blademasters. Heavy Blades would be an oversize blade/sword.
I don't get Divergence. 
But if anyone can help me in clearing up Divergence for me, I might change my mind.

Also to add, Helba is techniquely a wavemaster, but due to her amazing hacker powers, she has maxed out stats, a special outfit, is far taller then any wavemaster. And from what I've heard about when you get her in the last game, she can use any weapon, but her current one contains, GiRue Rom, Bivak Rom, GiRai Rom, and all of the summons.

Just to clear that up, Spears are used by Long Arms, and all the swords are used by iether Heavy Blades or Blade Masters. THe bows are used rarely usually by some people in .hack//sign and were also used as a funny way to delete characters in .hack//dusk. There is also the RailGun, which is what used in .Hack//Dusk, on .Hack//DIVERGENCE, by the staff, which deletes members
