All are well... My daughter Siobhan (15) is in the cast of a musical 'Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat' at Queensland Performing Arts Centre [QPAC] with Harvest Rain Theatre Company. They just had opening night with a standing ovation!! The choreo is great and the costume & stage theme is 60's & 50's... an Elvis Pharoah, KFC, Beatle haircuts, Partridge Family Bus , Psychadelia ... Great Fun. They are hoping it might be funded to tour Australia.

P.S. It totally boils my blood that all those people out there with hypertension (high blood pressure), which is often (but not always) caused by lifestyle factors like poor diet, too much sodium from too much processed food, obesity etc.... can easily get access to vasodilators on the Pharameceutical Benefits Scheme at a low cost.
Whilst all the people with chronic illnesses like MSA, ME, Parkinsons, Addisons, POTS, NMH, post polio syndrome and dysautonomia, and what have you, who are all mostly disabled and unable to have an income, have to go through government processes, applications, approvals and hand over $$$ for vasocontrictors

Oh you know, same as usual really.

Very annoyed at how behind Australia is compared to other countries in approving medications. I need a vasoconstrictor to treat my severe hypotension (dysautonomia related), and there are none available in Australia. Thankfully I was approved through a government agency to bring the drug in, at a whopping cost of $150 for 50 tablets ($9 a day/$126 a fortnight).

Don't ask how that is compatible with a disability pension. I am already forking out heaps for my other medications and medical bills. I am left with like $10 a fortnight out of my pension. And this is living with my parents who pay for all food, electricity, water etc.

Why must they make it so impossible?!? Why should I have to pay $126 a fortnight just for the right to be able to sit up and walk without passing out?

Blah you Commonwealth of Australia.

When I was living in New Zealand, I had to wait 3 years to see a specialist to tell me I had chronic allergic rhinitis and prescribe me the required nasal spray. Atleast here in australia I can see such specialists much sooner and the doctors are alot better too. Plus I dont have to pay heaps for consultations. On the other hand, in New Zealand, medication is heavily subsidised, you pay like $2 for medication that costs $40+ here. Hmm so I wonder what would be better. Medicare or heavily subsidised medication... I cant see why they cant budget for both.

The government is going to spend 16 billion on JSF fighter aircraft which are not even up to the job and 6 billion on f-16 superhornets which are ex-american airforce and falling to bits. Worse is that if we break the contract, australia will get penalties up to 500 billion dollars...

Obviously even during the global economic crisis, australian government has money to burn.
