Pfft, I love you bro! LOL.

In any case, he's some 19 year old boy who describes himself as a 'complain-machine', has yet to live without his parental support system and is at that stage in life where he thinks he knows everything.

You might as well talk to a wall, you'd get more intelligent responses.

Ironically I think my mom's cleaning lady made the same mistake once, though she was more polite about it. (Mainly because my actual girlfriend never posts to talk to me... Anyhoo I guess...)

And, yeah, probably, but he's not insulting, per se, just dead stupid, so I'm bogged down in a convo with him.

I find it ironic that the two people (Svenler as well, who's even more stupid) from countries where they get to take advantage of socialist privileges, claim we Americans would be better off without their benefits.

exceedinglyspherical In reply to Jeysie [2012-09-12 01:57:33 +0000 UTC]

That's because they're a couple of dumb kids who don't fully grasp all the benefits they do get and what isn't available in the US.

I don't think he's necessarily stupid, just a teenager who is still mighty sheltered from the world. I was book smart at 19 but also a know-it-all annoying dick. I generally avoid talking to teenagers at all, you can't tell them anything at that point in their emotional development. You just have to hope that one day, in their late twenties, they start to see the world as being more than the end of their nose.

I remember reading that teenagers have brain function that is essentially impaired due to lack of complete wiring:

In other words - they are biologically less capable of insight. Another good reason not to bother discussing anything with teenagers in general.

That and they're just really fucking annoying.

"That's because they're a couple of dumb kids who don't fully grasp all the benefits they do get and what isn't available in the US."

Basically. Svenler was especially hilarious, when he discounted the subsidized Business degree he got because apparently no US company would accept it (which one, I find dubious, and two, he's ignoring that he still has the knowledge he learned to earn the degree which still puts him ahead of most struggling people), and then tried to tell me I could learn how to pitch and run a successful business from reading library books, which hilariously stupid on a number of levels.

"I was book smart at 19 but also a know-it-all annoying dick."

I was really lucky; when I got online at 17 I ended up in my first fandom in a place co-run by a couple of very intelligent 30-somethings, including a Jewish lawyer. I got the clueless snot part of me beat out of me really fast.

"I generally avoid talking to teenagers at all, you can't tell them anything at that point in their emotional development."

I've had some luck; I know several smart teenagers in, ironically, two of my old RP groups, one here in DA and one elsewhere. I agree that as a general thing they're annoying though. When I was a kid I used to hate teenagers... then I stopped hating them while I was one... then I started hating them again afterwards. XP

"In other words - they are biologically less capable of insight. Another good reason not to bother discussing anything with teenagers in general.

That and they're just really fucking annoying."

Though admittedly Svenler has two college degrees and owns a business, so he's probably around my age. He also actually finally apologized after I guess one of my rants finally hit home the right way, or at least called a cease-fire.

He's an emotional infant with an overinflated view of his intellect. The best solution is to never engage him again. What a child.

At least TristanCody seems intelligent.

Hi, how are you?
Sorry for the sudden pop-in. Just want to recommend the latest TF Ongoing #22 to you (the preview is here: [link] ). It's written by James Roberts, drawn by Alex Milne. it has wreckers in it plus someone I'm pretty sure you'll like to see!

Hi! I just commented on your latest piece with Xaaron and Impactor before I saw this! Thanks for the heads up - I forgot James was going to be co-writing some of the Ongoing, but now I know to go pick up #22 at the comic shop. I've been crazy busy with work, I have left all my hobbies to collect dust!
