Are you in love? Because I read part of the 'Loves.' and 'Rhyming - No name.'. Sounds like you're in love. Well accurately, have a crush on someone. Interesting. I now see what it looks like from the other side of love. Where you're in 'once upon a time...', and I'm in 'happily every after'.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fanatically-uberfied In reply to cutechong [2010-05-04 02:30:21 +0000 UTC]

Well, yes I have a crush. But it's mixed with other feelings...it's not a good mix. I just need the crush to go away and life will be closer to being good. Congratulations on being in happily ever after

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

cutechong In reply to fanatically-uberfied [2010-05-04 05:01:36 +0000 UTC]

How can a crush be a 'bad mix'? Don't tell me you only like her for 'in the sack' kind of thing?! Nah...forgive me for saying that. I've run across guys who say that about their 'lady' friends just because they're 'hot looking'. Makes me wonder if their really is a 'good guy' out there to teach shallow guys a lesson. At least you're not shallow I hope.

Thank you. Congratulations on being in the moment of first love....well sounds like first crush.

It's complicated. That's all I'm gonna say about it
I'm not shallow.
Not THAT shallow at least.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

cutechong In reply to fanatically-uberfied [2010-05-04 15:54:38 +0000 UTC]

I can understand that completely. Love is complicated in itself. Add to the mix the feelings of both people, and it gets ever more complicated.

Apologies. I didn't apply it as you were shallow but apologies for offending you.

Maggie is an awesome name. I don't know any other Maggies even though I've heard the name called a "common name" or "common nickname"
My name's Garrett.
I can't remember if that's on my profile or not..

jesus you're kidding. what's the latest you've ever gotten snow?

(96 degrees here, haha just one more reason for me to be jealous)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fanatically-uberfied In reply to dyehardredhead [2010-04-08 02:58:44 +0000 UTC]

I think the latest I've ever gotten snow is early June.
But when my dad was a kid and still living in Kapuskasing, it snowed every month of the year. It didn't stay on the ground, but it snowed every month of the year at least once or twice.

that's absolutely fantastic!

hey so quick question, where do the names of the towns come from?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fanatically-uberfied In reply to dyehardredhead [2010-04-08 10:42:44 +0000 UTC]

Well Sudbury is named after a town in Britain. Some of the smaller towns around Sudbury are named for the same reason.

Other towns' names come from a whole bunch of things.

For example, Regina in Saskatchewan is named after the Queen, because Regina is latin for Queen. Victoria in British Columbia is named after Queen Victoria...

dyehardredhead In reply to fanatically-uberfied [2010-04-08 23:13:39 +0000 UTC]

dyehardredhead In reply to fanatically-uberfied [2010-04-09 18:44:54 +0000 UTC]

only asking cause it sounds native american.

So in health today the teacher was talking about internet predators and I definitely feel the need to clarify that I'm not trying to predator-ize you. Just in case you thought I was some creepy old person or whatnot

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fanatically-uberfied In reply to dyehardredhead [2010-04-09 22:06:15 +0000 UTC]

Ahaha I wasn't worried
Also, I think it might be Native American.

dyehardredhead In reply to fanatically-uberfied [2010-04-11 13:39:14 +0000 UTC]

Thank god for that
That would make sense, just the way it's spelled. I just think its so interesting where names come from, they tell you the history of a place.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fanatically-uberfied In reply to dyehardredhead [2010-04-11 14:17:35 +0000 UTC]

I agree! I love figuring out where names came from, or at least their meanings.

Ps, thanks for the fave

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dyehardredhead In reply to fanatically-uberfied [2010-04-11 20:57:20 +0000 UTC]

I mean if you look at town that has an anglican name, french street names, and spanish districts then it gives you some clue as to who was in power at different times. That's why I like my town, you'll be on jefferson street and then it'll turn into rue de liberte.

okay so I have to let you know, I kindof hate you a little. Poetry just falls from your fingertips (alliteration ftw) and when I try, hah. No. I'm really jealous. Also, personally I don't think they're depressing or morbid, not like some user's stuff on da.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fanatically-uberfied In reply to dyehardredhead [2010-04-12 00:38:44 +0000 UTC]

ahaha It may just fall from my fingertips, but it only happens like every few months xD
Annnnd thanks =3 I've never had someone jealous of me
You really don't think it's morbid?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dyehardredhead In reply to fanatically-uberfied [2010-04-13 02:08:37 +0000 UTC]

No not at all! It's creatively dark? Um hah, no it explores serious topics but I wouldnt call it morbid. I dont know, my definition of morbid is more like macabre, an obsession with the darkness of things instead of a cotemplation if that makes sense.

oh, and it does not happen every few months, more like ever week you obnoxiously humble man.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fanatically-uberfied In reply to dyehardredhead [2010-04-13 04:50:01 +0000 UTC]

Ahaha okay it happens every week for a few weeks, every few months

That's actually a good definition of morbid...That makes a lot of sense.

When did you start writing peotry?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fanatically-uberfied In reply to dyehardredhead [2010-04-14 00:52:51 +0000 UTC]

Um I'm not too sure. In grade seven I kicked ass in the Poetry unit of English. Then grade eight i didn't really write much. But the summer before grade nine I really started getting into poetry. So about four to five years ago..

Keep in mind it's meant to be performed instead of read

Oh say can you see
In the dawns early light,
bodies of children,
killed in the fight?

All American heroes,
boys just barely men.
How can you abide this,
don't you fear for your neighbors, your brothers, your friends?

They've run in with fate,
Their families left mourning,
It comes so on quickly,
Death without warning.

A meaningless war,
The boys forced to fight,
Gunfire and bloodshed,
This isn’t right!

Time passes,
Scars fade,
Wounds heal,
Memory remains.

Oh say can you see,
After 40 long years
Your grandfather shaking,
Living in fear.

In fear of the shrapnel,
Grenades coming down like the life giving rain
Convulsions and shivers, not to be stopped
Behind his clouded eyes lie the deepest pain

In the army, boys grow up fast,
Grow up harsh, cold, mean.
In the army, Boys see horrors of a lifetime.
Horrors of a lifetime by age 18.

Colours change,
Leaves fall,
Winds blow,
Now I ask you all.

Please bring my friends home.
