Physics is fun! I almost majored in that but the school of art wooed me away lol. Astronomy is also enjoyable! I'm taking a class about exoplanets right now actually and it's awesome!

It's interdisciplinary and mostly studio art like painting, but I'm planing on going into digital art for my masters~
Astronomy is fun! It's crazy awesome how we can detect if a star has planet's just by calculating the star's wobble in its orbit!

Heya, you too! ^^ Not at all, I'm sure they will-- I always spend too much money on art at conventions now XD;

oh god... liam CERTAINLY does, good lord. ;D I'm always worried about demanding porn at conventions. It kind of takes someone as chaotic as him to make me figure it's all right. XD Your sketches were GORGEOUS though! I love your westernized!chibi style! So cute... >3< Like a more detailed Marvel Super Hero Squad type thing. Fffff.
Where did you learn art?

where? .. sheesh.. umm.. all over really! .. started learning on my mum's wall-paper about the age of 2 apparently (not to mum's amusement) .. then through numerous schools and eventually a university collage in Northampton, England, before finally moving down here to Wales to study animation @ the "Glamorgan centre for art and design technology" .. a centre so legendary it now no-longer exists lol ... but yeah, I've picked up tips and tricks from all over.. not just in courses/schools etc \:]

Ooh, so you did go to art school? :3 I'm always sort of curious about the balance between self-taught and school-taught, since I basically favor self-teaching.

yeah I've totally been to art school... at least 2 in fact, you could say that since I only went to WFUS (where I did my A-levels) to do art (and just so happened to decide stay and take my other A's there too) that could have counted as an art school for me too, but it wasn't really! LOL Uni College Northampton I would call an art school since we were in a specialised campus, and GCADT certainly was.. although my mum chose to call it the very grown up name of "Cartoon College" lol
I think there probably has to be a mix of self-taught and tutor-taught if one stands much of a chance of becoming a successful/well-rounded professional in their field. If one's drawing just for themselves that's different of course, then there's no need for school/tutor-teaching.

Ffhaha, Cartoon College. XD Why do you think the school is necessary?
Also, RE the last comment, wallpaper < artistic education ftw :3

I don't think school is necessary. (that's not what I said)
baring in mind any opinion anyone expresses is only ever based on their own experience I said this (based on mine); "I think there probably has to be a mix of self-taught and tutor-taught if one stands much of a chance of becoming a successful/well-rounded professional in their field."
That isn't to say anyone who doesn't go to art school won't make it in their field of choice, if they're naturally talented and dedicated enough of course there's every opportunity they will! but it is saying that school gives us the opportunity to learn new skills, and try different ideas/alternatives than we could do by ourselves.. for example, I could have taught myself the basic fundamentals of animation from a book, but I never could have had the same level of understanding, and the time/freedom to make animated films and such, without going to "cartoon collage". - I also never would have learnt about storyboarding/editing software/photoshop and stuff, so even though my degree doesn't directly relate to what I'm doing now, I don't think I would have had the skill/base or knowledge to make a good go of being a freelancer without the help and guidance from the people I met there. - those tutors we learn from in life could just as easily be neighbours or relatives who are in the field or have experience (ie, if you become an apprentice to someone for example) but either way it's training of one form or another. For example; if I'm trying to break into the animation industry, with only the knowledge and experience I've gleaned from studying tutorials on-line or from books, I have to be SO much more talented than every other applicant who's just walked out of college with degree in the subject after paying to study it for 3/4 years. - That's what I was getting at. (of course, it doesn't mean you're guaranteed a job if you DO go to college either! .. just cos you've done the course that doesn't mean you have the skill/talent/enthusiasm... hence there needing to be a mixture depending on the individual)
