Both versions look gorgeous.. I really like the texture, it gives a really good feel to the piece.

Oh gosh, you are so kind! Thank you for your words of encouragement. I'm going to have cataract surgery this month and when my eyes heal, I'm told I will be able to see well again.
I have no way of knowing at this point if what I create is out of focus, skewed, odd colors, and I didn't realize it until a few mentioned it to me. But I do thank you. I'm thinking, at my age, it's all for not anyway, but I also don't want to set the example of a quitter for my granddaughter. I'll have surgery and hope for the very best.

If any of your work is out of focus, skewed, or has an odd colour, I hadn't noticed at all! I truly and honestly think your work is amazingly beautiful, and I don't think it was for nothing. If you come out of your surgery satisfied with the way your art looks, I really do hope you'll continue.

...I wouldn't discredit that deviants opinion because of whether they are good or bad at drawing/painting. That doesn't matter. But it does matter if it's coming from a good place. And it seems this person was just trolling-nothing better to do I guess. Maybe practice on their own art skills instead.

I would ignore that critique- that's a nasty little girl who's angry at the world, so she takes it out on people here. The critique had no valid points because she doesn't KNOW what you're using for programs, or how you learn to use the tools. Not worth paying attention to, she just wants attention, whether it's negative or positive. Starve her.

Thank you for that. I agree. Also, I found her critique to be highly accusatory as to the dragons, which are presets used in my graphics program and royalty free, so I certainly do not need to give another artist, even if I knew who the artist is" credit. Certainly, Photo-manipulation, is recognized art here at Deviant art, and that's more of a fudge than anything. Och, besides, hen...this piur young person will probably grow bored of trolling and really will start eating babies. Best to block and avoid a troll.
