Admittedly the third game is the weakest of the series by far, but I still think in it's own right (And also considering that they had a smaller budget and lesser amount of time to work on the game) it's still a good game.

Yeah, I agree that Darksider's greatest strengths are it's visual design and lore, very much like Legacy of Kain in that regard.

At least Darksiders 3 sold well enough for THQ Nordic to continue the franchise, and with Darksiders genesis we are seeing more of the universe lore. I am open to the idea of Darksiders having spin off games in other genres so long as the main title games don't require you to play them to understand the story.

Now that I think about it, I honestly think they should have a codex in their game, like Mass Effect and Dragon age, the universe of Darksiders is expansive enough for it.
