By the way, I almost put your last name on that comment of mine and almost made you a thousand stalkers.
Thankfully, I remembered that I probably shouldn't have put your last name on.

...'cause only I have the right to stalk you.

Your piece is brilliant. I just love the fact that not only did you incoporate one of my all time favourite authors Jane Austen that you also brought light onto Judy Chicago (I feel personally that sometimes she is overshadowed by Barbara Kruger, another artist I love). You subtleness into female sexuality is something that I am still struggling with. So this piece has definitely changed my perspectives into sexuality as a whole.

It wasn't until a few years ago that I got a chance to see the whole installation of The Dinner Party (it made a contraversial sensation when it debuted nearly 20 years ago in DC). I have yet to see such an extraordinarily creative use of ceramic media as this whole assemblage is! The collage theme of last year's contest just brought out so many possibilities. I think Emily BrΓΆnte may have been part of The Dinner Party but I do not know if Austen was, perhaps because Austen (at least then before she became hip) was often considered an apologist for the very class system in English society that she found troublesome but ultimately worth maintaining. Certainly the BrΓΆnte sisters struggled with it to greater effect than Austen did but they simply did not have the latter's sheer volume of work. I've found Chicago a little problematic myself as she has a tendency to make the art into a soapbox rather than let the symbolism speak for itself. Btw, there is a nice level-headed retrospective at the Museum of Women in the Arts here in DC that is taking a look at women Renaissance painters. Gentileschi is obviously featured but one of the things which is good is the contract that some painters, regardless of gender, just weren't that good but rather the class system elevated their talent beyond its level. I am gald to have evoked some effect in you as that is the hope of any artist that somehow the lightning spark of some emotional epiphany may crackle in the perception of the viewer! Thank you!
