your visual vernicular is one of a kind. Im doing a an essay on semiotics (metaphors and art) and im thrilled to have stumbled on your work. It would really help my studies if you could explain your process in making "Attack of the ads", not the technicalities but moreso the feeling, the thought process, and inspiration you had and in what way you applied it in the piece. im looking forward to your response. from a fellow artist to another, thank you for your contributions to the world.

The thought process: well, I don't own a teevee or listen to commercial radio so in some sense I feel protected from advertising. Although I live in NYC, I seem to be semi-clueless about corporate logos and brands. (I get made fun of when I mispronounce Roca wear, or Modells shoes for instance). But every once in a while I get exposed to "reality" and when i do, I always feel assaulted by the amount and obnoxiousness of advertising. I have a feeling that we have lost, the corporations have won. The fight is over. That was the basic premise behind the piece. Oh, that and it was an illustration for Tikkun magazine for this article:
