At the moment, I'm trying to improve my skills in taking photos, so I'm uploading pictures, with advanced critique encouraged, straight out of the camera.
I'm quite proficient with retouching, so I don't want to showcase my skills there, rather I want to get feedback on my photography - as a result, the pictures you're seeing here are as they were taken - from the camera, straight into iPhoto, resized appropriately and uploaded.
I'm not even cropping, or adjusting the curves, they're all as they came...

Well, I'm pretty much posting photos of architecture at the moment. Melbourne is a pretty inspiring city, there's a huge range of styles from old and ornate, to sleek and modern.
Everything I'm posting at the moment is straight from the camera, into iPhoto and then resized for the web - no manipulation at the moment. Not even cropping them...

I've got a fair bit of experience with retouching photos, so my aim here is to improve my skills in capturing the image first. Garbage in, garbage out.

I'm asking for critique on all photos I'm posting at the moment, anything I can do to improve my style is good

I went to fed square on the weekend, and unfortunately it was a pretty bad day for photography. I managed to get a few half-decent shots while I was there.
I quite like the place, and there's a lot of potential for some very striking images to be taken there.

I've posted the start of a series, with critique encouraged, I really want to improve my skills in architecture and landscape photography, and this seemed like a good place to start...

hopefully next time I'm there the lighting will be better, and with a bit more practice, there should be some nice shots...

Thank you for your kind words and constructive comment on "The Shrine" ! I absolutely agree with what you've said and am in the process of seeing if I can touch up the picture, as well as working on a digital painting of it...
