Hey there! Welcome to DA!
Sorry to see that your first week was a rough oneโฆpeople here DO tend to get far too up-in-arms about art theft (it's happening far too often on this site). I fully belief that they were much too harsh on youโฆbut it IS against DA policy to post artwork that you yourself didn't draw.
That doesn't mean you can't post your own stuff! So what if people say you can't draw? You know how you get better? You practice. How do you practice? Drawing every day, challenging yourself, etc.
It's best if you can still have fun with it, too! Maybe find people who would be willing to give constructive tips or art trades, to get as much variety as possible. Practice takes time, but trust me, it's worth it! No-one improves overnight - I still have some of my old stuff up here, and from then to now, that took me about five years of self-teaching. XD
So chin up, pick up that pencil (or mouse, or tablet pen), and get back to your art!

I am sorry you were met with such unwarranted hostility on your first week on dA. These bigots find pleasure in putting down someone else for being new and naive, creating a mob whose sole intent is to dish out subpar insults and threats towards your account over a mistake.
Keep doing what you do, and avoid responding to these kinds of people. They are also very young users who have this collective god complex against younger users such as yourself. They believe seniority=superiority in places where it has no relevancy and are not afraid to bash new users to help their own ego inflate.

Plagiarism (i.e. stealing somebody else's work) is against the law, you know... If I plagiarized just a tiny bit where I go the college, I'd be reported to the Dean of Students (and if warranted, higher authorities) and then I'd be expelled. I wasn't being hostile to this member or anything (though I know that some others were, and that is unacceptable), just pointing out that she should take the stolen photos down before her account gets shut down. I was simply trying to be helpful so she wouldn't lose her account, and never was I hostile. You can't really blanket everybody who pointed out that she was violating the Terms of Service and copyright laws as hostile. What *I* think is offensive is when you label us all as bigots with a "god complex," without considering that many of us were not being hostile but rather just trying to help her avoid losing her dA account. Sure, some of them might have a superiority complex, but did you ever think that some of us - the ones who were being polite - were just trying to help a new member?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Do you mean to say that you didn't see my previous comments on her artwork, politely recommending that she remove the artwork she didn't make? We dont "bash" on her because we're inflating our ego's. People who take someone elses art and posts it on their site, saying its theirs, are called art theives and i hav had several incidents like this and it doesnt matter if theyre the newest or oldest on deviantart everyone will come down like a tone of bricks and the fact it taken her 3 days since she was told to delete it {and hasnt} means she isnt worried about deleting it because idiots like you are encouring her that what she did is fine! if it was just a simple mistake she wouldve deleted it by now.

You and everyone on her page going on about theft does so because they want to join the general consensus of bombarding anyone who does not follow the rules to the dot.
Over the internet people with a seemingly voiceless existence in person become vastly more opinionated with this anonymity on websites. It just so happens that these events, also known as being an 'internet tough guy' applies to everything everyone has said against this user. This is why i called out the blatant ego-hoarding.
Many of you young citizens go about regarding people of younger age with absolutely no sympathy and have complete disregard for any sense of logic once on the internet. Everyone who went out of their way to comment on the fact they reported her do it for the sole reason they believe they are superior to her.
Your entire argument is based off the fact you and many others can get away with insulting her. You show no actual regards to the user of whom marieeevee took the image from, you just feel compelled to add your two cents almost verbatim with everyone else. This is really a prime example of hive mindedness and inconsideration towards others.

Now you have gone full circle. You claim hypocrisy on my part for simply advising her not to reply to people like you. But unlike you i did not try and overwhelm her with threats and self produced statutes.
Your argument is critically flawed by a premature sense of bias you have towards her [or any new user] for mistakenly taken someone else's art. It would not surprise me if she up and left the site forever with people like you going head on and attempting to degrade her for being mistaken.
I would also like to note that you do in fact find yourself superior to her, just as much as every other person. That is exactly why you have replied to me and have went out of your way to say they have been reported.
You value yourself so much that you feel you are helping by adding comments debasing her in her first week on this site. If you did not have a god complex you would have reported and left. But no, you along with everyone else took time to comment on how she is wrong. My argument provides factual behavior young users like you always seem to force down other peoples throats. You prioritize your views so much that it is undeniable that you feel it was productive to post it.
