Thanks for adding me to your watch list.
Sorry for the late reply, I wasn't on DA for a while.

Thanks for following my gallery. I have always liked that clean finish in your own armor related projects.

Hey man, thanks for the watch. I remember seeing your B&W burg on the armour archives years ago, I think I still have it saved on my computer somewhere...
Love your new hats, looking real nice.

Your stuff is lookin way awesomeness too.
Now all we both need is unlimited time for workin on it, and an unlimited supply of materials.

I guess the real answer is re-defining what you call food.

Hey really interesting work! I love armours and metal. I have some interesting ideas? do you work for commission?

Sadly, no. No commission work. I have a rather dreadful work ethic when it comes to that, and it's happier all around if I just turn people down.

Well thanks, anyway if you change your mind please let me know. I would really appreciate it. For having a stechhelm like the one of Albrecht DΓΌrer I would wait any time.

I'm curious, do you do a lot of inkle weaving?

mattmaus In reply to SamzSanz [2010-02-17 21:17:34 +0000 UTC]
I hadn't really intended too. But since I finished the loom and bought the yarn... I went like 7 out of 9 days without much stop to it except for work and sleep and eating and stuff.
But no not really. I've just started (like a week and a half ago). I first wrapped my first loom for the first time on February 13th.

I see! That's very interesting. Do you see yourself doing more of it in the future, then? The reason I ask is, I'm starting up UNF, which is devoted (right now, at least) to collecting the works of people like yourself, who engage in relatively unusual fiber arts.
If you find yourself doing more inkle weaving, I'd be very happy to have you join the group.

Heh... that old thing?
Must be what... 8-9 years old now? Close to it anyway.

You had semi-retired. Are you back at helm making?
π: 0 β©: 1
mattmaus In reply to OenghusLok47 [2009-07-27 00:16:48 +0000 UTC]
I quit trying to use helmets as my primary income. I wasn't making enough at it. Case in point... the Black and White Burg... 72 cents an hour. Granted I could probably get away with charging twice what I did for it... but...
So now I get to make what I want, when I want, and sometimes I finish up something that someone else wanted.

Tell me about it? Back in my "commission" blade days, I usually ended up working for free, or paying out the nose. I gave that shit up pretty quick.
:0)
