Despite the low mileage, this was a fleet vehicle though. Lots of wear on the door panels and the driver's side of the bench. A section of the driver's floorpan was replaced (due to a leaking windshield and sitting for some time) and it currently has no carpet.
While no show truck, it does make a nice snow/hunting truck. By this time next year it's getting some new wheels and tires (265/75R16 and some 16x8 cragars), a lunchbox locker for the rear axle, and a tonneau cover.
I've since installed some Hella lights on the front bumper (driving up mountain service roads at night is pretty hairy without sufficient illumination).

If you ever need parts that are hard to get, feel free to ask me, I have a ton of parts from the ones I have had and still have, I have various door panels too (lots of blue interior parts due to my buddy having an 86 in blue, and my 82 being blue)
I also have an 80 short box step side that I am fixing up, put an all black interior into it and a built 302!
You gotta have the big lights, I had a pair of cheapo but bright and tough 5 inch 100 watt lights on the front of my 82, and a set on my 94, they help!

Very nice, the 300 six is nearly indestructible, I drove an 82 F150 XLT Lariat from 1998-2009, 2 engines (302 then a 351W), 3 trannies (AOD, C6 then another C6), 2 diffs, and it rusted to pieces, but I put over 1 000 000 km on it and had it all over Canada and the Northern US, it was used in a commercial once, and in a Tom Green movie even, now I have a way better 94 F350 1 ton dually with a 460 with an Allison 5 speed and posi diffs with a 8x8 deck on the back, but I just can't get rid of my 82, too many memories!

Prior to this truck I had a bunch of Chev's.
78 K5 (350/350/203), 87 K5 (350/700R4/208), 89 K5 (350/700R4/208), 95 S-10 Blazer (4.3L/4L60E/NP241), and a 98 C3500 Dually (454/NV4500).
Had to get rid of them over the course of a couple years several years ago. Last year I decided I wanted another truck so I made a list of requirements:
No fuel injection
Solid front axle, Ford TTB, or 'Yota IFS
Standard Transmission
And that's how I ended up with my 83. The only "option" this truck has is the four wheel drive and power steering. No A/C (even though it would be nice in the summer down here), standard cab, bench seat, shortbed.
But man, is it easy to work on. There isn't anything on this truck that I can't fix, and having the bare-bones base model just makes everything so simple!

The cool thing about these 80-86 Ford is if you want all the other options you can put them in easily, I put the tach dash and full instrumentation and power locks and windows in mine in an afternoon, they are prewired for them (on the v8 trucks for the tach they are) and they are easy to work on, and there is part interchangeability from 1957-present, anyone who says these are hard to work on has never worked on one!
