Also, I hope you don't find this weird, but I read your journal when I came to your page.
What I have to say about it is that girls honestly just aren't getting to know know you first.
Like... When you say this:
"I am being told often enough that I'm such a great guy with an amazing smile and a genuinely honest and compassionate personality that it sometimes borders on cliche."
With personality, it takes a bit of time to be able to come to know that person and appreciate who they are, and, unfortunately, too many girls today [that I've seen] are just out there for the next lay. Just like with the club setting you mentioned, those girls are probably there with sex as a focus on their mind. Granted, there are a few that aren't, but I'd say the majority of them are. And a lot don't care about getting to really know the guy, they just want that one night stand and they're off.
As for the fact that you actually seem to care about women, it's a great aspect to have as a boyfriend, and it's refreshing to actually see that. The whole entire rant above also applies to some guys, haha. At least that's what I think.
It's also refreshing to hear that you don't think sex is everything. Again, a lot of people today just seem to center their relationship around when they can get the next bang, which I'm sure doesn't help their emotional status with each other.
I understand where you're coming from...kinda, haha. I mean, people have told me things along the same lines before. "You've got a great personality, pretty eyes, I don't see why any guy doesn't like you." Well I did. I have flaws, and it was the biggest fear on my mind that people notice them straight away when they meet me. I'm not a fantastic looker, but I like to make people laugh, and I'm good at it. It's the same thing in my case. Why don't people get to know a person before hand? I understand it's an initial attraction that brings you to a person, but people should begin to grasp that it's not everything. Like in your case. You are attractive, and so far you seem to have a cool personality, so I don't understand either why girls won't approach you.
But that's all I can really think of. That they just don't want to get to know you for the serious relationship to occur.

That means so much that you would not only read my journal but leave such a comment as well. Thank you. But it's funny how things turn out. July 22nd I began talking with a woman online on a dating website we were both part of. A week and one half later we meet in person for our first date. It was perfect, as is she. I was at a point in my life where I was wondering if I would ever find love, as is evident with this journal entry, but when Pam came along, she flipped my world over. Apparently I did the same thing to hers, and as shocked as I am, she's as smitten with me as I am with her, if not more.
I could go on and bore you with all the gushy details of our time together and our second date, and our phone conversations and corny facebook comments, but I'll spare you. :-p
Thanks again for your kind words. I hope with all my heart that Pam and I take the long road, and I hope that you, in time, find your own happiness with someone like I have. I feel inspired by Pam, and I know that to be the one thing that I never had in the past. That's why she's different, and if I have one piece of advice to give you in return for your words, it's to look for inspiration.
