Cynthia, you are new to dA and thought I better give you a heads-up on what you are implying with your response so far. Don't take this the wrong way as it is intended to help and not hinder.
A very emotive subject on dA is copyright/art theft and you maybe just slipping into this area. Lets take you response to my links. Your reply implies you intend to purchase one of my photos, then use that photo for an oil painting, then sell that oil painting. Technically, you cannot do that, as I own the copyright to the photo you purchased and cannot copy it without my approval. If you do then it can be classified as art theft.
It is a complex and very emotive area and something I would suggest you avoid like the plague. You have been up front and honest with your intentions but some individuals will take offence at that.
Normal practice on dA is if 'stock images' are used, and they are normally declared as 'stock', you ask approval first before use, and when completed the finished work in 'linked' back to the 'stock images' and full credit given to the owner. That is for internal use within the dA community. How that would work with a 'sale' of the end product I am not sure, but I suspect most artists would at least require copyright publication and maybe even a commission on sales.
I would suggest you interrogate dA via FAQ's/Help and see what suggestions and advice they provide . I certainly do not have all the answers as it is an avenue I have never gone down. However, I maybe able to point you in the direction of one or two individuals within the dA community who would be able to assist in this rather delicate area.

Yes I know you did, but I just wanted to clear the air and steer you away from a troublesome area. Copyright and all the stuff that goes with it is a minefield with many pitfalls. I think if you continue going along the same path you have done with me then you should not encounter many problems, at least you are asking which is a great deal more than many do.
But to answer your original question, as far as I am concerned you can use my image/print for your painting but would appreciate seeing a copy of the finished your product. How’s that? dalove:
