Yes! Is there anything behind the thing you're painting? Is it on Photoshop? (Or literally painting) If it's in Photoshop, change the transparency of the tool (paint bucket, brush, etc,) you're using. You can also experiment with the texture.

XD Yeah, they make paint for glass and it isn't too pricey~ Also, might I suggest getting some real glasses in the right shape and going from there? You can get lucky at thrift stores sometimes!~ Or if you get glasses that are large and plastic you can cut them into the right shape!~

Oh, er... Cough syrup?
You could maybe very carefully glue some of that transparent stuff you put in front of lights at performances to make them cool colors.
You could maybe just glaze a layer of red dye (I don't know, food coloring or hair dye or something) on the lenses, let it dry, maybe let it soak in dye,,, maybe, i don't know,.. probably not, just throwing out ideas.
