You have a gallery of very stylish shots. At first I might think "that's nice" then look again and appreciate the sensitivity and craftpersonship that has gone into the composition. Your results are not "nice" - they are brillant or very beautiful. Happy Womens Day!

Such a nice feedback... thank you!
But really, it's not real craftwomanship (my knowledge about the technical part of photography is minimal), maybe it's more something like female intuition.

I seem to have an overload of that & I'd love sometimes to be able create something tangible, a painting, photo ...

rememberance In reply to Spinosum [2005-03-09 08:33:39 +0000 UTC]

Taking photos isn't really such a big deal. You need much more greater skills for a good poem or writing... or a painting. I take photos because I'm neither a good writer nor a good painter, heh.

I really love what you have in your gallery - you are a very tallented photographer - I know I'm gunna love looking through your stuff at full view. I've always been interested in what Germany looks like now - I was never really into my cultural background until I started dating my boyfriend (he's full blooded Portuguese and he is the first generation born in America). He got me very curious in my background and I came to learn that I'm full blooded German - yet I'm the 3rd or 4th generation in America. I'm a Reinhart - you know anyone over there with that spelling of my last name?

rememberance In reply to TreeClimber [2005-03-07 07:41:12 +0000 UTC]

From which part of Germany did your ancestors come from? Anyways, I hope I'm able to show you some interesting German shots.
Right now I can't think of anyone with your last name I know personally. There's only some entertainer with the same last name but he's using an artists name since he is male and in his TV appearances he's a woman. He's a very cool personality.

TreeClimber In reply to rememberance [2005-03-07 07:51:18 +0000 UTC]

sweet! The only famous Reinhart I knew about was DJango Reinhart - but he was a french guitarist with a German last name (found that out when a guy flipped out on my last name and asked if we had inherrited any of his guitars! HAHA)

My family came from the area near Norway.

There seem to be some cool people with that name. But it's interesting to find out about ancestors.
Unfortunately there aren't any famous people with my last name, though.
Hehe, it's interesting to see in what kind of dimensions american people use to think. From my point of view Norway is very far from Germany. (Denmark lies betwen both countries.) Hmmm... probably they came from that part between Northern and Baltic Sea, huh? Then it should be Schleswig Holstein.

I havent' paid much attention to geography in about 8 years - never really interested me either - but someone said I look like I have a Norwegion build - so I thought, well maybe I'm from near Norway then (I only knew it was near Germany heh)

Considering the fact that I've been convinced the Redwoods are somewhere at the American east coast it seems I don't have a real clue about geography either.

Norwegian build...?
Hmmm... maybe your ancestors where vikings.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TreeClimber In reply to rememberance [2005-03-08 05:43:11 +0000 UTC]

well there are three types of redwoods, and three locations for each, the giant redwoods are on the west coast, the second type is on the east coast and then there is another type in China - all three are getting to be scarce.
