EeeeerΒ i dont know what to say other than Thank you!!. You just given me a mini breakthrough with my cellshading technique. Doesn't look like much change but i never knew how to get from A to B until today, fk yeahΒ !
hmm to put it short,Β Epic fantasy adventure /comedy, about 2 rebel teens who steal a famous flying ship and venture off to escape from their "normal" lives, and it pretty much goes to hell from that point on xD... If you want, i can send you the prologue when i start asking a few peeps to proof read it, totally up to you.

Yessss I'm so glad it helped.
I can totally see the difference - the point is basically to have all the colors appear as though they're under the same lighting - in this case it's a red tone.Β
I'd be super honored to be one of your proofreaders. You can also send me any WIPs (related or not to the comic); I always like seeing progress too.

That Sycra vid really helped me understand how to select colours with more logic, I seriously canβt thank you enough!! hm if you see something within these 2 pages that i could improve on also, id appreiate that, im open minded ^^.
Mhm, Iβm very curious to see the pages when itβs done, since i never go further than the storyboard phase lol.. But once all the line art is done, I can see the colouring being a real challenge but hey, learn as I go I guess; Your thoughts are always welcome xD.

Your backgrounds are really something - just all the nice detail and architectural design is very aesthetic. The ship has a bird face? hahah
The character looks good; I don't really have enough experience with human anatomy to say much about it, sorry.
The only thing I notice is the perspective on the side of the "counter" in the middle right frame, which looks a little off. I think the line that represents the closer edge of that hole should be exactly vertical.
Other than that, the background shadings are good, but maybe you can fine tune it by refining the edges of the patches of different value (hope you understood that lol). What I mean is sharpen the corners where the size of the brush you were using restricted you. This is just personal opinion, but I have always considered it this way: generally, pictures look more presentable/finished (not that your work doesn't, dont get me wrong) if you get rid of little areas that give away what size brush you were using.
Sorry I'm bad at explaining things ahh
Hope this helps though

scribblylines In reply to Kerlasia [2014-12-23 16:37:43 +0000 UTC]
ooo yeah it definitely should be vertical, Iβm surprised I didn't catch that ty.
The shading is pretty much a roughs so I have an idea what they look like, Iβll make sure to refine the clouds when Iβm done with the line art, Need to study the crap out of cloud references,70% of the pages have them in the b/g so it would be a good idea heh.
Rofl youβre not as bad as you think you are at explaining things... Iβm way worseΒ #>>

Gah i spent more time thinking whether or not to add a close up panel of her face on this page; This would be the first time you see her in a fullshot..Β i don't know what to do about it -_-. There are so many other WIPs but then i'll just be showing you the whole comic then xD... Happy Holidays!!

Kerlasia In reply to scribblylines [2014-12-26 22:38:41 +0000 UTC]
Merry belated christmas, hanukkah, etc.
Maybe you could put a panel immediately after this one and have that be the closeup, and have her say something? The latter might not be appropriate depending on your story, though, but I think it's better to have it separate.
Character design is looking great.

o_0 Thanks im glad you think so. You've made an insane improvement with your art looking through your gallery, damn lol.
Do you happen to study animation?

Kerlasia In reply to scribblylines [2014-12-14 06:12:37 +0000 UTC]
Oh shit someone noticed, thanks. (I've just become "serious" about art this May, and have been practicing since)
Animation is my dream job. I've only experimented with Flash so far but for now I need to improve my drawing skill level so I can learn to animate later.

scribblylines In reply to Kerlasia [2014-12-15 16:24:09 +0000 UTC]
Well your art style is getting to that CalArts level of draftsmanship in terms of aesthetics. God you learn so fast if you started taking it seriously this may hah. *Wish you the best of luck getting your dream job !!*
Β I'm trying to animate a trailer for my comic atm x_x It's a painful process, well for me atleast lol.. I use to use Flash but the brushes/pen is so bleeh, compared to TVpaint which feels like photoshop but with a better animation interface.

Kerlasia In reply to scribblylines [2014-12-15 22:31:03 +0000 UTC]
Aaaahh it's nice to know someone thinks that about my work. Thanks so much!
I think it's a painful process for everyone hahaha
I was just thinking about the brush in Flash - how it has that weird stylized correction thing (can't think of better way to explain it). I've never heard of TVpaint though, I might check it out.
If you're going be posting the trailer/comic on here, I'd love to look at them. I like your style a lot.

scribblylines In reply to Kerlasia [2014-12-20 03:23:58 +0000 UTC]
For sure haha, yeah that was the major turn off with Flash, it made my lines feel much derper than it originally should be_____
I'll definetly be posting comic related stuff whenever it's done; I have 2 weeks off from class, = way more time to be productive /o/..
By 2015 i should have the first 35 pages done in colour well that's the goal atleast, i find it hard to pick the "correct" colours, but the linework is nearly done heh.

Sycra (if you know of him) did a whole bunch of videos on choosing colors:

I think this might be helpful for you.
What is the comic going to be about, btw? Just curious.
