Hey I was just curious, do you have a website or anything with examples of your graphic design work?

I'd be happy to email you some samples.
Shoot me a msg and let me know your contact info and what you are looking for and I could send you some work to review.
Thanks for looking.

Oh, sorry I'm not a client or anything . I was just curious on what your work looks like since I'm trying to get into the field myself. At least attempt anyway.

heh. no worries. You can never be too careful.
Are you in school for GD? I took illustration in school and worked in graphic design after the fact. I'd be happy to help in any way that I can but much of my work hasn't been posted due to non disclosures and the like. Basic print work is around though. Flyers, webgraphics, logos and that type of thing.

Well, actually I graduated last December. My major was Computer Graphics and Animation, but I think Graphic Design (specifically logo design) is pretty cool as well. I think I have like one on my profile somewhere if you want me to give you a link. I think I need to practice more on it though. Ah, I understand...I guess I'll ask a couple of questions if you don't mind then.
1. Do you use your own website for everything related to your work or do you use other freelance websites like oDesk, Elance, etc.
2. Do you know what bids are?
3. What kind of project do you suggest one should start off with for Graphic Design.

1. I use my own site but also use other websites for marketing as well as social networking venues. Don't discount the value of twitter, linked in, reddit, coroloft, and so on.
2. Bids are the alternative to quotes. when a client asks you the price of a job you give a quote. When you ask the client the price of a job you give a bid. I much prefer to quote than bid as it means you aren't standing to compete. That type of competition is easily bringing down the market of hard working artists who need to pay the bills.
3. Logos, business cards, flyers, web graphics are all among the things i would call easy breezy. They aren't hard to do, they take up little time and they cost your client very little but they help build your portfolio.
If you have a talent for animation, especially flash, then look into getting in touch with IOS developers, perhaps IOS GAME developers and offer some work pro bono (if you can). this will open up many doors for you down the line. But dont work for free forever.. offer ONE item pro bono or as a signing bonus. Folks will be more likely to do work with you down the line if they believe you have THEIR best interest at heart.
IS that what you mean?

Ah ok. Yeah LinkedIn is a great resource
Unfortunately, I did not learn enough of flash to really animate well with it. Actually, I have almost none of the software I used at school since they are so expensive. Thankfully there are some free programs out there that do the job. However, because this computer is "old" it can't handle some of the programs I would like to put up here. I'll have to wait until I get another computer (my last one was stolen) before I can get the programs I'd like. Thanks for all the info and yes that's what I meant

Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?
What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire deviant life, that there's something wrong with the story. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.
You take the blue pill, the story ends. Your browser closes and you believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland. And, I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I offer only the truth, nothing more.
Take: The Red Pill
Take: The Blue Pill
spyed, nobody has ever done this before.
I know. That's why it's going to work.
