I really got into the Ender series, and need to finish it at some point.

I really dug Ender's Game as well as Ender's Shadow, but they went downhill after Speaker for the Dead. I never even finished Xenocide.

Yeah, that is technically where I am, though I really liked Speaker for the Dead. I'm curious what the other "shadow" books are like, too.

Speaker for the Dead was good. I enjoyed the story. There's just so much that was left untold between Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead. I was a little mad that OSC would jump so far ahead when most of what I enjoyed about Ender's Game was the precociousness of all the characters. As adults, they'd all lost part of that.
Everyone stuck on that planet wasn't the story I wanted to see pan out for three books. I wanted to see Ender's Game followed by two books closer in timeframe. By the time I started Xenocide I was just disinterested on the whole plot.
