No, I don't think you know me (yet)
But does the inverted cross really represent anti-Christianity? Because I know that St. Peter chose to be crucified on an inverted cross because he felt unworthy of being crucified the same way that Christ was. and you know he's the first Pope of the Catholic faith.
But I think if you really wanted to be anti-Christian you wouldn't use the inverted cross because just using acknowledges Christ you know?

You can interpret it in different ways, I guess. In metal, it symbolizes anti-Christianity --> you see it on album covers, necklaces, in logos.. etc. It basically indicates the mockery of Jesus Christ and contempt for the gospel of salvation.
As for St. Peter, he did get crucified on an inverted cross, but this has nothing to do with him. Sorry.

I'm glad the Holy Spirit's fire is still blazing in you. All it takes is little effort and you can keep it going. I heard a story once about how we're like logs in a fireplace. We're difficult to light but once lit it can do so many things.
Initial Stage
The fire is on but it is weak. If you blow on it the fire will go out.
Like new searchers their fire is on but it's fragile and can be easily blown out by negative people or negative in our lives.
Burning Stage
The fire burns strong and keeps going by itself. It's not easily blown out. As a matter of fact the more you try to blow it out the stronger it gets. By blowing on the fire it actually fans it and makes it stronger.
These are the Searchers that are serving God with everything they got. The more negative they encounter the stronger they get because God is in control.
Smoldering Stage
The fire starts to go out and the flame diminishes and the log begins to just smolder. The log will smolder until it eventually disappears unless you shake off the ash and poke it with a stick until you hit some embers, blow on the embers until the fire once again gets going
These are Searcher that were strong once. But they stopped feeding the fire. The fire isn't totally out but there aren't any flames. They will continue to smolder until their 5th day unless they do something. Roger was smoldering for a long time. But this retreat took a stick to him and hit some of the embers that were laying under all that ash. It shook the ash off of him and blew on it to light him back up. And now if negative trys to blow it out it will only make his flames stronger.
Now notice that we are just one log. If we put more logs together they create a stronger and bigger flame. We need to keep fanning the flames at Search and looking for the embers that will re-light people up.
Okay, I just wrote a book...SORRY
I've attached the outline for the growth talk. It's a work in progress. I've broken it up so that there is a main speaker and the board members take different stories/rules/part of the talk so the main speaker isn't the only one talking. Since you are now a board member you can give one of the stories. Let me know which one you want.
The questions for the Monday Night Follow Ups are:
1. Who are you?
2. Who is Jesus to you and when have you experienced him the most, before, during, or after the retreat?
3. What are the biggest trials in your life? If time allows, What are the biggest blessings in your life?
4. What is your apostolate and how do you see yourself getting involved with Search?
5. What have Monday nights meant to you?
One more thing...
We are not meeting this Thursday because of Holy Week. So we need to tell the new Searchers or they are going to show up. I think we should have the rollistas call the candidates on their tables and let them know. Let me know what you think.
