Yay! I really like Mirror's Edge, such a wonderful piece of digital art. I admit there are quite hard parts in the game (for example, storm drains climbing), but I found it extremely enjoyable to play. : )
To answer your question, YES, he is. Matsumoto's visual language is so strong and yet delicate, not to mention, his stories tell deep messages. Have you read "Go Go Monster" by him?
