hey I remember, you're the guy who makes those wonderful vids on youtube! Remember me? I'm Ghanian animator. I want to go to Calarts too, but I will not be applying in a while because I have so much to do before then (character animation program is where I want to get into). For now I'm just slowly building up on my portfolio!
Who knows maybe I'll see u there.. hopefully.. it's hard to get in, but ur animation is fantastic, I have no doubt u'll get in!

And yes I did get into the Character Animation Program at CalArts, thank you! (Uh...yeah. I honestly didn't know it was that competitive of a program to get in until I got accepted! Tee hee. I guess there was a new record of applications this year, around 450 applications? And there's only 40-50-ish talented students selected in this years program)!
It's great you wanna apply to CalArts also! Just don't hesitate at opportunities like that, make it count! You never know what may happen ;D Definitely keep up the good work and keep going after your goals...I did, and see what happened?

Did you submit one of ur youtube animations as ur supplementary for your portfolio? Those were just marvelous!
Do you have an animatedbuzz account? I will add u there too, that is the place where it seems that a lot of calarts students or wannabe students really gather.
I think the biggest killer in the portfolios are the life drawings, I mean I like drawing ppl, but they not only want you to be able to master drawing the human figure, but you have to be unique as well, also from looking at and hearing what other cal arts students have told me, they really like a lot and I mean A LOT of color in the life drawings

Calarts? That's incredible! I've always considered it the "Harvard for animation", but based on what I've seen of your work you seem well qualified. I wish you the best of luck, and please let me know if you get accepted in the program
