Just keep doing what you're doing! Your attention to detail is most impressive.

Hiya! I did better at the Milford Pirate Festival than I have anywhere else which I found quite surprising. Sold quite a few Fairy Tale Greeting Cards and a pair of Iron Man shoes . How did you find the event?

Hi,
Lots of interest, very few customers, I sold three paintings in acrylic on canvas, two cats and a bear. One of the cats is the one I used as the avatar, and the woman who wanted the bear couldn't resist bargaining for it. Also sold a print of a Ki-61 Hien, ( Japanese aircraft ), it will cost them about 10x as much as they paid for the print to frame it ( glass and matting ). Prints on canvas might sell, but you can waste a lot of money producing prints nobody is going to buy, and if you do them to order you find customers aren't prepared to wait, they want something to take away now. Glad you sold something, it's trying to figure out what they are going to want that can be the awkward bit.

Sounds like you did quite well with the acrylic paintings! Is that about on par with what you normally sell at markets?
You're right, prints are a tricky thing. Even just with my greeting cards I've found that I sell out of one design before selling even one of another, and you can never predict which designs it will be!

I am headed to the Browns Bay market this Saturday Will I see you there?

Hopefully this Saturday, have a couple of large prints on stretched canvas of around 72cm by 56cm, of tiger and leopard might see how they go, as well as the originals. There's also piles of framed portraits that might tempt some commisions, have a 4m site, is that 4m wide, or 2 by 2, which is a bit like a postage stamp....we'll see if we can get the moths out of their wallets, there's always those who want to buy an original painting for the price of the frame......hope to see you there
All the best Duncan.
