You inspired me to draw a kitten >.<
I started using painttool SAI now though because my photoshop trial ran out. Now I have no idea how to make a brush for fur like you have D:

for the fur, I used brush and smudge tool and also download some brushes for making the fur, although it didn't match very well..

I think it looks really cool, and so does the bird. I'm not doing the same cat though, I found a picture of one trying to catch a goldfish XD. So i'm also gonna have to work out how to draw scales, shouldn't be too hard.

I have just been using a trial of photoshop, and it's run out. I just swapped to Painttool SAI. It's sort of like an advanced version of paint, it does most things photoshop can do, it's just not quite as good. I also have art-rage but I haven't tried it. I really want to try out Maya, which is a 3D animation program with a free trial [link]

Ah I haven't tried painttool SAI. for drawing, I ussualy use photoshop, open canvas, or sketch book pro.. Yay! thank for the link, actually this year I will choose my major at collage, and I'll choose animation. for 3D animation program, I heard that 3D Max is also the good one. Ah, maybe I'll try Maya after I get a new laptop. now i'm still using a netbook, I just afraid that it's not strong enough to run that application.

haha, I watched my brother make his computer, it's kind of easy. You just get all of the hardware and cables, and plug it in using the instructions. It helps if you watch youtube tutorials on how to put one together too. It's so much cheaper to make your own, and its performance will be much better for the price you pay.

I watch a lot of subtitled anime, and I thought it would be better to watch it without subtitles, so I started to learn japanese. then I realized it's kinda fun to learn. I was scared of kanji though, at least until I came across a ted talk that shows you some simple chinese characters [link] , now even kanji is sort of fun to learn

ah yeah I like watching anime too and I'm interested in Asian's culture especially japanese culture
talking about chinese, I talk both chinese and Hokkianese at home. I can talk a little but I can't write the characters because so many chinese characters I must remember and they're quite difficult to learn -____- but learning language is always fun

This guy suggests this method over the Multiply method so that you aren't forced to use dark lines.

Okay, I think I understand it now. It is quite easy now that I've played with it. It basically lets you colour underneath your pencil lines if you scan your work. You have a drawing tablet right?

Good news is, I just got a wacom bamboo tablet in the mail. It will probably take a while to get used to it.

wew, that's nice. since i got my pen tablet, I like to draw digital art. Mine is wacom bamboo too ^^ but I bought the bamboo manga one. the app is just same with yours but I got the open canvas lite app which is so useful to draw manga

Hahha, there's so much to learn, practice and play with. I like to work out how other people are doing things too, and see if I can do it too.
I got Artrage with mine, I want to stick with Photoshop though, even though my trial is running out D: I might try coral painter or SAI at some point. I still want to draw with pencils too though.

yeah, that's true. Although sometimes I think other people's art works are really great and hard to keep up with, I like to see how they did it and make it as my reference too ^^

ah, trying many kinds of applications is fun ^^ but since i got the bamboo manga, I draw a lot using sketch book pro and open canvas. U can feel that u draw with pencil if u use those apps.
