Of Rivalries and Jealousy (Aomine Daiki x Reader)
"Kyah!" you screamed.
Your boyfriend, Aomine Daiki, looked up irritably. "What."
"I got a perfect score!" you pumped your fist into the air, "Iβll finally have the same score as Sei-kun!"
Currently, you attended Rakuzan High School. You didn't even know how you got into the difficult school. You had met the Generation of Miracles in Teiko and assisted with the team. You had been particularly friendly with Aomine and Akashi. Aomine had asked you out in your last year of middle school, but you had decided to go to high school with Akashi, as you had had rivalries in middle school as well. So Aomine visited you from time to time by picking you up from Rakuzan after school. You continued to try to overcome Akashi, but there hadn't been a single time you had gotten higher or even the same score as him.
"Why do you even care?" Aomine asked, a little irked.
Dense as you were, you failed to notice that your boyfriend was considerably more moody than usual.

βHey" you said, staring into the eyes of Kise Ryouta.
"Hey" he replied monotonously. His eyes had long since lost the sparkle they used to show whenever you looked at him.
"So..." you looked at the ground, "Merry Christmas."

You averted your eyes uncomfortably and looked up. "There's a mistletoe" you pointed out, not because you wanted a kiss, but because you wanted to lighten the heavy atmosphere.
"Yeah..." he said boredly, not bothering to look at it, βso what?β
Those two words made you feel like you had been struck. Just a few months ago, he would have told you that everything you said was important to him. You wouldnβt have dreamed he could ever utter those words. But now, they were directed at you. Alas, your heart ached at how your relationship had changed. Β
"Moriyama-kun!" You waved at your childhood friend excitedly.

"Aomine-kun!" Momoi waved her hands frantically in front of Aomine's face. "Dai-chan!"
"Leave me alone, Satsuki" the male grumbled, pushing her away and burying his face in his Mai-chan magazine.
You smiled at the scene a few feet away from you. As childhood friends, Momoi was the closest girl to Aomine, probably even closer than you. You had met them at Touou Academy just a few months ago. Momoi had introduced you to Aomine. You sighed. You had had a crush on Aomine since hearing about Teiko in middle school. You had crushed on all of them. Who wouldn't? Superstitious Midorima Shintarou. Handsome Kise Ryouta. Tall, clueless Murasakibara Atsushi. Invisible Kuroko Tetsuya. Perfect Akash Seijuro. Strong Aomine Daiki. But you had been the closest to Aomine. And you had admired him forever, but you knew it would take more than that for him to acknowledge and take an interest in you.

"Mido-kun!" you called, pouting.
He turned to look at you irritably, closing the novel. "What nanodayo."
"Mido-kun!" You rested your head on your desk, looking at him. "I'm bored."

You looked up to see he had returned to his novel. You sighed and leaned back. Of course Midorima Shintarou wouldn't give you ten seconds of his time.
"(Name)-chan!" Another voice called.
You perked up at the voice, grinning. "Takao-kun!" you exclaimed, "thank the carrots! Mido-kun won't pay attention to me!"
"That's not nice, Shin-chan" Takao said.
He put an arm around your shoulders, reassuring you, "don't mind him. He acts like he doesn't care, but he's actually really interested in you!"
"Takao you fool, nanodayo." Midorima said without looking up from his novel, pushing up his glasses.
"Takao-kun! Can I come watch your practice?" you asked, picking up Midorima's lucky item, a penguin plush, and cuddling it.
"Sure-"
