Description
Well, I failed at submitting this the 11 of November, but at least it's done. (do you guys realized we've lived the 11/11/11 at 11:11 ?!)Anyways. These are my characters, from right to left, William (british), Steve (american), Heinrich (german), Tristan (french) and Fabiano (italian).
I wanted to put their flags at the background, but newspapers looked better. I've spent more time searching newspapers from different country then doing the pic ! (and the hardest to find were british newspaper, God knows why)
The title is quite ironic, because I don't call a 21 years of peace before a 2nd World War "peace".
Sooooo, in France, we had a lovely emission on TV with our dear President about War, Europe and stuff. Dear country...

Yeah. 1914-45 wasn't exactly humanity's finest hour.

This is amazingly well done.
Sketchy, black and white colouring goes perfectly with the newspapers on the background, and it helps building up the grave mood of the situation. Composition is just right on the spot, with the middle guy being placed a little bit lower than the others to emphasize his difficult situation. And as the finishing touch that simple, yet striking heading. YOUR FAULT.

Wow, thanks a lot
I did work a lot to do a correct background, so it's good to hear.
As for the characters and positions, it's a project one year old (I did a sketch like this last year, but have only drawn it this year), so I had time to think about it carefully.

Great statement! Especially France wanted to blame Germany for everything and make it as weak as possible. Even German-Austria was forbidden to join it.
Such a shame...

Yeah, as a french, I think we were quite stubborn and blind-folded on that treaty. But my readings assured me Italy and England had also their purposes here

But it were not the normal french people, it was the government and their helpers.
I watched the movie "Merry Christmas" about the 1. world war. It showed the christmas-night of 1914,
where Germans, French and British celebrated together and played soccer and such. They saw, that not the normal people want the war, but the governments.

Oh, I saw this film too ! One of the best movies on WW1 I saw, really wonderful. Well you know, people's opinion of the war is quite my research. Some frenchs hated germans, some didn't. Why ? Who ? That's what I try to find.

11/11 is remembrance day, which I think is what you've clued into.
...
This wouldn't look too out of place as a politcal cartoon. I like it.

Exactly ! You've got it.
Well thanks, it's good to hear.
It's true I'm never too sure about what I'm doings. Cartoons about war is always a bit pointy to do.
